Thanks guys... I will look up that stuff... although, I can't salvage anything from the old system... staying complete and going to my brother.. so I have to do a total replacement unfortunately. I might be able to stretch a grand if I had to though too... 8)

So, I've been out of it for awhile... and once again, I am considering building a new pc... I have a budget of $800 give or take... all I need is the box... no monitor. My current system is 5 or 6 years old, and for the first time, i can't play a game on it. So, what would you guys recommend? I am thinking core 2 duo build... but ultimately, I would like to be able to play bioshock on this system. I can get the proc and vid cards at a really good deal... as for mobo... i can get asus at a good deal, but would consider something else if it is better. so.. hit me with it... what would you recommend?

man... I've had kidney stones 3 times in my life... and not one time were they painless enough to work, or do anything else... all three times they were through xrays and confirmed to be border line surgery need. So they opted for drugs and wait it out... First time I went in was in college... had to wake my roommate up, and he sped through town to get me there... first question the nurse asked... "do you have a living will made out?" HAHA... you should have seen my face at that point... yeah, I've given birth 3 times...

My pc is so old, it wouldn't even play the demo... time to upgrade... LOL.

i have it installed... quite different then I expected... right now I suck at it, so I hate it... I don't think I have even killed anyone yet. But I will keep pluggin away at it until I get a feeling for the game. If played correctly, much slower pace then CSS.

I didn't read all of this... just your first post.. I used to be a smoker... for 15+ years... and I'm only 30 man... Here is what I learned... I've tried your above method... it DOESN'T work!! Don't bother... The only way to do it, is cold turkey... I have been clean since last labor day now... I cheated twice... once on turkey day, and once on xmas. That's it... haven't had one since... and have no wish to go back to them... COLD TURKEY!!! that is the ticket...

And yet, here you are posting. I'm sorry for what ever just happened in your building... but lets take a lesson from this... Life is harsh... real things happen that can kill... you two are going on and on about a GAME!!! Get over it already... go outside... have a drink... do something. Quite honestly every admin is different... we have the same rules, but we all interpret them at the time of a rule break differently. M2 came clean about the situation. I tend to agree with him... you aren't going to be happy until Lunk leaves... NOT GONNA HAPPEN. I don't know him personally... but i do know he is part of the GC foundation, and he won't be going anywhere. He belongs here. So really, I don't understand the ongoing posting of this topic... you guys have made your points... if the Lead Admins feel something should be done about it, they will. Just my humble lowly admin opinion.

by choice? I have a two piece (jacket and pants) for street riding. It is what I used on the track before... usually on the street I am only wearing the jacket, helmet and gloves and boots... Don't wear the leather pants on the street... The one piece will be for track riding only. 8)

thanks everyone... now if it would stop raining for a couple days... sheesh... with this came all new gear too... helmet, race boots, one piece leather suit, and gloves... I can't wait get this thing on a race track!!!

Brand spankin new 2007 Honda CBR600RR!! I picked her up Thursday, and put the first 126 miles on. What an amazing bike! The midrange is insane... this was an upgrade from a 2000 Yamaha R6... I'm all geeked out!

that's what I was gonna say... I deal with Dell on a daily basis, and can't touch this system even with huge discounts... so dell is out. I don't have a problem building the machine... I have built several... just haven't in a year or so... so I am out of the loop. I have a build spec'd out, just haven't had time to post all the links... will today at somepoint. Thanks Ben

Thanks all for your input... I tend to agree with everyone here. I've been friends to this entire family for close to a decade. They aren't going to try and screw me, and I don't mind being the tech support for the computer. Henry (the kid) got quite a bit more money is my understanding, and most of it went into investments and college funds of some kind. He was given this amount to do with as he pleases. Preacher, I like the system, although I am gonna take it down a notch. One step down on the proc and video card. Maybe just a 20 inch monitor. I would like him closer to the 1500 mark... he is a pretty bright kid, but I agree, he doesn't need state of the art here. I will put together the items today and post up the final specs. thanks again gang. Ben

Thank you preacher... I will look through it and see what is what. I tend to agree with you... I don't think I will get him state of the art.. but he plays some processor and video intensive games.

so, a friend of mine has a son (about 11 years old I think... maybe 13) and he is turning into quite the little gamer. He recently came into some money (inheritance) and has asked me to build him a PC... I have been out of the scene for awhile... haven't built anything in a year or two... Cujo helped me out with the last one. So looking for ideas.... He has nothing, and needs everything... computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers. He has a budget of 1500-2000 dollars... ideas? Please. 8)
