    Man.. The upload took so long that i fell asleep.. I better finish it real quick. edit: Not adding de_corse. It was too big.. 146 mb.. x_x thats about. 7x the regular size of a big map

    You guys want dead_alltalk on? Edit: Everything seems to be working ok. Only 4 maps in the mapcycle cause i'm kind of rushed. So it's up to admins to mix it up with votes!!!!!!!

    West is stocked again. Now to do all the minor tweaks to get it back and running well. I'm on the server now. Need to turn DWP off. Going to be a BIG list of things to do.

    I'll revert West back to stock. I don't know if Shaftiel and DNA have FTP access or not but I'll get this out of the way for now since it's more time consuming.

    Hmm.. Job titles.. (title goes here) - Stutters CEO - alvin Events Manager? - DNA Map Getter? - Shaftiel (title goes here) - Lazerus (currently M.I.A.) That's it so far. DNA and Shaftiel can handle events and maps together. Don't feel too restricted to one job. I'll need John's help with a lot of stuff like.. setting tickrate, max # of players, etc etc. All the complicated stuff. Edit: I'm leaving for work in 2 hours and won't be home till midnight. Should I revert West back to stock?

There's actually two sets of stats. the GG stats (how many times you win gungame) by typing !top10, and the actual stats what i have no idea how they work.. and that's the regular rank, top10, etc etc etc. But yaeh.. No idea how it works. I goof around in there too. I won a gungame doing knife and grenade only, it was leet.

    As long as there's support for 3rd party maps then I'm up for it. I'll teach DNA and Shaftiel how to upload maps if they're willing to search and add them. fpsbanana is a good start for custom maps. There's a map request thread in the aimlab forums that has a few custom map websites linked in there. As for manpower.. I'm here as long as i'm not at work. That's normally 2 days a week, 3 if i'm filling for others. Hopefully Laz makes his return soon. And volunteers would be helpful. Edit: Whenever fatty gives the OK to change to a custom map server i'll set it up. GunGame is basically a for sure small traffic server. So once Fatty OK's this we'll change the server.
  10. For the week before West became gungame.. Alivemetal was taken off the rotation. Assault actually filled the server on more than one occasion though. The rotation was de_dust2, cs_office, de_aztec, cs_italy, and cs_assault. I think i'm missing a de_ map but that was the rotation. Here's what west has been looking like the past month (February). I posted this in the admin forums during my progress report. Before i posted this, the average daily traffic on west was 0-1 player. That's the average # of players in the server in one day. After that post GC started to show some support for the server. Usually after 9PM the server would start up and stay filled for 3 hours or so then quickly die. For the other 21 hours of the day.. Server had 0-1 player in it. This just wasn't going to work. Average # of players in a day was 2-3, regardless. Now.. The server is getting traffic. We haven't completely filled the server but we are getting more players in and out of the server. The most regulars i have seen on at once was 3, at most (excluding myself). The average # of players is now 4-5 players a day. I miss stock too. Aimlab was my escape from having to deal with team stacking, complaining, bad attitudes, ethugs, you name it. Sure it was empty the majority of the time or had very low traffic, but it was still fun. As for the emptiness. You'll get used to it. I've been playing in an empty server for a long long time. Anyways, after West becomes more steady and subtle i will focus on making aimlab more stock. Right now it's just 24/7 d2 with a pretty bad config. My goal right now is to bring traffic into west though. Aimlab at most will support 16 people (2 reserved slots). We do not know the exact limitations of the aimlab yet but i'm sure the max number of players will end up dropping. And.. For future reference. As of right now, i have no intention of changing west back to stock. I prefer having low steady traffic and bringing in new regulars and potential members than having an empty server except for 2-3 hours a day where half the server is made up of current regulars and members. If I see a possibility to get west back to stock and have it operating successfully then i will do so.

    This is why I picked Gungame over Zombie. The lack of support on the west coast just would not work in combination with zombie mod. Anyways, here's the report so far. 1) We haven't completely filled the server at all. 2) The server has been more active. 3) We are getting a lot of visiters. 4) Most gc/regulars on at one time was maybe 3 (excluding me). 5) One perma ban so far. 6) People are lagging. I don't know since i don't lag on west.. But they're saying it's laggy for them. 7) We may possibly have a couple of new regulars. (May need more GC advertisement though. Don't think they realize GC exists other than the server) 8) I am really tired from running around in the server killing everyone. 9) I miss stock now.. I had aimlab to run away to when people complained so much. Now it's gone. 10) The daily average traffic went from between 3-2 players a day to 5-4 players a day. Before i posted this .. the daily average was 1-0. So i'm pleased to say we're making progress. Although we haven't peaked.. We have gotten more traffic throughout the day than before. Before we filled the server for maybe 2-3 hours but throughout the rest of the day.. It was dead. So we're making progress. Edit: This week i'm working till midnight on.. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Aside from that, school at 7 am. So.. If anybody could spend some time on the server those days i'd really appreciate it. I'll be on everyday other than those. Probably spec and chat it up while i do some homework. I'm 3-4 weeks behind in my college Courses, got dropped from Trig. So yeah. Any help would be appreciated. I'm up for suggestions as well.. Comments, bug reports. Whatever.

  14. Well, I haven't experienced any lag yet today so i guess it fixed itself? No crashes so far either.. but.. CT's keep spawning with defuse kits.. And by the end of the map the whole floor is covered in them. Any ideas mook?
  15. Any idea what happened before the crash? We caught two bugs so far. One was FF crashing the server and the other was exploding barrels. I'm going to hypothesize that... The lightning effect from auto-slay/slay/etc etc is causing the crash. I'll test this when the server's empty. And.. i'll try to fix whatever is wrong in the config that is causing these crashes.

    Well.. I'll test GunGame for a week or two.. Then i'll try some Zombie.. If all that doesn't work I'll consider stock if we have enough support for it (will be watching for complaints in forums). Honestly, I want to make a mod but I am not that smart. If I was.. Here's how the mod would go (It's basically a combination of zombie and gungame). The mod would be named Extraction Point because that is your objective. CT's spawn randomly scatted throughout a map and with random guns. You could end up with just a knife or an awp.. Anything in between. Work together and get to the extraction point and stay there till the timer runs out. Of course the other team will know where your goal is, that just makes it more interesting. So really, a lot could happen between spawning and the end. As for what the T's would look like.. I'm not sure yet. I thought Zombie would be a good idea but that's so limited. Maybe just humans vs humans? I thought aliens like in NS would rock.. Like say if your extraction point was a roof.. They could climb up the side of the building and assault you at the very end if they wanted to. Anyways, this is just another one of Poke's crazy fantasies.

    Hmm.. Sorry, I forgot to make an official announcement. The server is still in the test stage though and Gungame might not be permanent. There was/is a discussion on this going on in the Lead Admin forum. And.. probably the Board Members forums as well but I'm not allowed in there. Yup, this has everything to do with low traffic. I don't rememer the Dallas server.. I remember us trying to start a Seattle one and that failed. I also remember the ScoutzKnivez and Zombie server that we tried to start but failed. And we've been trying to get West back on it's feet but all the minor tweaks we've tried haven't improved traffic at all. So!!! We're trying a BIG change.

  20. You'd be surprised to know assault brings in traffic. DNA was too when we went from 6 players to a full server.
