Just got a new workstation at work yesterday, and it is freaking sweet. 2 quad core Opterons (8 total cores), 12Gig ram, nVidia Quatro 1800, 2 146gig 15k SAS drives in hardware raid 0. I have it running fedora 12, and it flies. I have to find a good benchmarking tool for linux and I'll post some results up.

My super late addition: I have a BB Curve from work. It was on the ATT network, and I dropped calls all the time downtown both in the office and in my apartment. ATT came and actually installed additional antennas inside of our building to help with the dropping of calls. This now means that A) I am for sure getting cancer and as soon as you walk in or out of the building your call drops, because the hand-off doesn't work right from the tower to the internal antennas. I then moved to the north side by Wrigley. I get 0 signal in my condo. IN THE MIDDLE OF CHICAGO! Unacceptable. I talked with the work people and got me switched to T-Mobile. Exact same model phone (BB Curve) and I get signal everywhere. I have had it for about 3 months, and not only do I get signal in my place and in bars where I never did before, I don't think I've had a single dropped call yet. Oh, almost forgot my favorite on ATT which was the "get a voicemail 20 minutes after someone called you, and at no point does the phone ring or show a call." That was with 4 bars sitting at my desk.

Hm, random comments time: I love playing on retro, and it is the only CS server I play on. Unfortunately starting your MBA program while having a full time job leaves little time for gaming. I always check to see if there are people on, but with my odd hours of play it seems that many times there are not. As much as I would love to join to seed the server, if I only have an hour or so to play, I would like to actually play something. More times then not though I just switch over to TF2 which I play on the ville's servers, as ours didn't make it . As for the admin thing when ever I have banned anyone (I think like 3 people total ever, who were obvious speed hackers), I always try to make it by the forums afterwords to check in. For maps I try to ask around to the people playing what they feel like so that they stick around, as I agree that playing the same 4 maps over and over will clear out any server. I think more theme nights like gungame, etc could be fun and draw in a new crowd, especially if they were advertised on the MOTD, etc. Anyways, those are my two cents, hope they help

I have a car at my place and park it on the street, and have never had a problem finding a place on my block. Not granted the farther you go east the more difficult it gets to find spots. And I do love the fact that I can walk 3 blocks to the train that runs every 5-8 min. and be at work in 30 for $2.25. Try driving downtown and parking for more then 30 seconds for that price

I live in Roscoe Village, which is just west of Wrigleyville (I am about a mile walk from the park). Depending on where you work in the loop, finding a place of the brown line is your best best. The red line is ok, but usually a lot more crowded and at times bum infested. The rainbow flags are concentrated south-east of the park, normally on listings you will see it as "east lakeview" as they can't put boystown on there. Lincoln Park is nice, I looked at a couple places there, but got more for my money where I am now. The neightborhoods are pretty similar though. Hit me up if you have any questions about places. I just bought mine about 3 months ago, so I may have actually seen some of the places you are looking at.

Who wrote in on the homepage here? lol. Tell me what you want it to say and I will make it say that. Also, this page is kind of shady still. I can't find an easy way to get back to my group without searching for it again. No way to friend the members of the group that I can find, and no way to add admins
