Main server hopefully unless people don't like the PvP too much: Stormrage And I've created a PvE character on the server: Wiccana I've created a level 21 Assassin and level 10 Tempest of Set on Stormrage so far(I thought I'd create another character so I can hang out with you guys on the first Island until level 20...). And the other server I just have a level 5...

That sucks, I thought it was already out, the drop down menu for it in options shows DX10...lol...so I thought it was working, well it still looks very pretty trust me... But that will just be something to look forward to... Anyway last night before I went to bed I made it to level 19 and could go to the main city and of course I did...I couldn't resist... Well it was huge, so huge I was there like an hour then realized I needed to go to bed and I still hadn't explored it all(keep in mind I was doing quests too). So that was just the city, I still hadn't gone outside the gates, but if thats where we will be spending some of our time, I'm pretty excited! What sucks is tomorrow I am going to be gone later in the day, but will be back... I'm not sure the official time its opening up to everyone but I might not be around for it... Don't forget about ventrilo guys! We are using Gamerscoalition's server: Hostname: vent.gcftw.com Port: 23447 I'll be in there when I am playing AoC, you guys better be too!

Not sure about the PvP penalties if another player kills you... I've only been killed twice by another player and didn't pay too much attention... Although thinking about it, I do not remember having to go find my tombstone and seeing the penalty you get when you are killed by a npc. So I am pretty sure you don't lose the experience either in PvP combat...

To answer you're first question... When you die you rez back to these portal type things and you can discover more as you move along the game, so if you're in an instance usually the first one will be at the start, but say you're far along into the instance and if you die you'll have to start from the beginning, but if you find new ones then those are the ones you will come back to life from... Dying doesn't give any penalties until level 10 like most mmos, and you get like -2 attk or magic attk for everytime you die(and lose some experience), so those are stackable death penalties, but the cool thing is if you find you're tombstone(will be shown on the mini-map) those death penalties will be removed. Of course that is if you can defeat the thing that killed you in the first place, but I've found its really easy to do this, so its not so bad at all, except of course for the losing experience part. And to answer the second... Gankers will be in every mmo PvP server, but I think seeing as we have a more "mature" audience it might be a bit better... I just saw a level 16 going around ganking some lower levels, but honestly I think it will be better than most mmos. Everyone is friendly on the server I'm on, in general chat I've seen questions being asked and polite answers given, I've seen nice discussions going on about AoC in general, and just the atmosphere seems pretty great. Of course there will always be the occasional ganker, but I say just "call" or "message" you're friends if you're having trouble and then gang up on him, and then he or she shouldn't be too much of a bother after that...

I just stopped playing like an hour ago(I need to go to sleep)... The only thing that sucks is the PvP in a way, of course some of you will love it, but its pretty much free for all except for a few designated cities... I was owned a few times already by being ganked by people just camping out... I'm level 14 right now, and once I hit 19 or 20 I'm going to stay where I'm at(at 20 you leave and go to a completely different area) and just help you guys level around the area and complete quests... Although there is a single player part until you're 20 also, but there is not much to kill and it takes time. I'm an assassin so I could stealth around where you guys are killing to gain experience and if anyone tries to gank you guys I'll make sure they don't do it again...lol... Maybe it won't be so bad later on, but I'll prolly make an Alt in a PvE server just in case I need a server to fall back on if the PvP gets to me... I think right now it sucks for me because I'm alone, I think once everyone is in it will be much better as a group. And Jackie my computer is pretty powerful so it better be playable for me, but there are tons of options to turn things down, but with most everything on high I am getting between 50-70 fps...

Alright guys! I have joined the PvP server Stormrage and depending on how well I like it, thats the one that will stay for now. I played through the first mission and am now in the first city... It was pretty amazing! I love the combat system! No auto attack so make sure you are ready for being able to pay attention to pushing buttons on the keyboard(I looked into the combat system already, but was anxious to try it out). It works great, and the fact that if you are attacking a certain direction and you have more than one enemy and hes on that side, he or they will take damage. So soloing in this game will be much easier I can imagine... I do have vista and am capable of running DX10, if some of you are I believe you will be in for some wonderful eye candy(I think it will still look nice either way). The dynamic lighting is just so beautiful and just most everything is I haven't checked my fps but I haven't lagged yet and I have everything pretty much to the max... I think it was a descent launch even if it was delayed by 3 hours, I think it was prolly for the best. And if you know mmos you know there will always be problems at launch so its all good! I will keep you all informed of how everything goes without giving away the plot. I do have xfire now, I think we will have to talk to each other through that or pm here and before the public launch I will make sure we have a vent subtopic in the gc ventrillo or somebody will Alright I"m off to play some more, can't wait to have some friends in the server! Ugh I started logging in at 1pm eastern, kept trying over and over, thought I'd check out what people are saying online, and I guess they delayed it by 3 hours, so now I have to wait until 4pm eastern... I am sad now, oh well I've waited this long, I can wait longer...lol... Sorry to all those who pre-ordered and did not get in to early access... Opened the updater for Conan and it is a sure thing that it is delayed 3 hours...

Awww Peckles! I usually go to work at 11pm est on the weekdays... I think most people are asleep by then because they are working first shift. This week I have vacation, only problem is I will prolly be sucked into Age of Conan, although hopefully map night will happen tonight because I think I could take a break to go play some custom map night on scopeless

I'm the only one starting early Jackie, and if I need to, I can start over when you all start I think or just help you guys out(which sounds better)... This is pretty great the crew we have going here and I know one other person playing too, so its going to be sweet, I could prolly talk a few irl friends too at some point(one just doesn't have the system for it so prolly not him)... I wouldn't ditch you Jackie as long as you are on around the times I'm on I will definitely help out! Oh ya! 2 and 1/2 more hours to go...lol...

Ya Unclean thats funny... Well our vacation doesn't roll over and it starts over in June, so I wanted to take my second week off before then lol... Just so happened that this game is coming out too, so I have some time to spend on it Ya I figured we'd make an AoC channel, I think if you just shoot Fatty a pm about it, he'll make it up...

We are for sure rolling a PvP server(so if thats not you're thing then you'll prolly want to start on another server)... If all of you have steam friends let me know you're names on there and I will add you. I think we could prolly use ventrillo through GC's server, I don't think Fatty would mind So I guess I will be alone in the early access which is fine... I do normally work the weekdays, but this coming week I have vacation, so I will probably be playing like crazy until I am working again...lol... And the weekend of the 23rd I am leaving to go to the VI LAN party in IN, so you guys should be able to catch up to me then The war mammoth sounds and looks amazing(if you check out you tube there are some nice videos on it). I wonder if we could have enough people just in GC(people in the GC community) to make a guild city, if not we'll have to start something up, cuz the guild cities also seem pretty amazing... And Voodoo, the 5 dollars covers 10 days of gameplay and gives you early access(prolly covers band with too, but still). Also days and times I can play... I can play weekdays from around 6pm to 11pm and weekends I can usually play all night(unless I have plans) seeing as I work third shift.

Aww thats too bad voodoo, if you want I can let you know all the info of where were at when we start, so then on the 20th you can just start and probably easily catch up

Where did you preorder? I preordered at the Gamestop store... do they give out early access keys too? And you guys need to post up where you create your characters. I'll join ya guys when the game goes live. Thats where I preordered from too Unclean... Ummm they should send you an email soon enough(took I think 2 days from when I preordered) with all the info you need for early access and everything else you get with the gamestop preorder, but the link to start downloading the 13.5 gigs is already out and about, but before you get in to the game itself you will need to pay $5.00. I'm downloading now and it looks like with having to pause it to play my games every now and then it will prolly be done downloading on the 16th or so, depends on how it goes... So I would start downloading as soon as possible... I will definitely let you know what server and everything because my one friend is not preordering so I thought I would be alone in the early access, but maybe not after all... And just so you know the $5 also covers 10 days of gameplay, so you're not just paying for 3 days early.

I've been watching videos of this game and am even more anxious than ever to play it... I have it pre-ordered and will play on the early access date... Penty or Leveller, did either of you have a chance to play the pvp they opened up yesterday? If so what did you think of it? I'm pretty sure my friends will want to roll a pvp server, but I heard some bad things about the pvp in AOC... I think once this game comes out Source will be done with for a bit, seeing as I will playing between GTA 4 and AOC... Knowing me though I can't leave source for too long...

I have these headphones(bought them for $47 not too long ago, a deal that will never happen again) too and love them also! If you haven't bought headphones yet, these are wonderful, I am just now getting used to how well the directional sound is and its pretty amazing. Then again Mohawk I'm not sure if you need descent sound, you own me enough as it is in CS Just buy a cheap mic along with it, I use a mic on an older pair of headphones that I just sit around my neck, but I'm sure you could buy a standing mic too if you think that would bother you too much...

Looking forward to this game!! We'll see how it all pans out though, because tomorrow I will have my copy of GTA IV, and once I start playing that, it may be a while before I play another game. Except for CS of course, seeing as I always go back to that game one way or another, I guess nothing else compares yet...maybe AOC will be my new addiction soon...

If you guys switched the server to hardcore only I would only play on the GC server, but right now I play on hardcore only servers... It would be great to play on the GC server though with people I know! Ugh from the moment I played hardcore I could not and will not go back to regular... I tried to at one point, but its just not as realistic. When I shoot someone once or twice they should die...lol... Also headquarters rules all game types, imo of course If this happened though I would definitely put more time into the server helping it fill up and what not.

Just so you know Penty I am trying this out... It seems pretty well done for a free game! A few bugs here and there(steps are annoying, maybe its just cuz I chose a small sprite), but so far I'm liking it. I'm still confused about a few things, but I'm sure I'll get it all... Hardcore is usually the only mode of server I like to play in... It makes me use iron sight and feels more realistic that way... So if you guys did this I would definitely be in all night on this night, but prolly not any other nights... I can't stand regular anymore, I tried, but its not for me

Oh man this sounds like a great deal, but ugh, I'm sure I wouldn't have the money for it, thats too bad... An extra laptop is always nice to have lying around...
