I just started a week ago and I've already built quite a bit! It just takes a little bit of time before things get rolling. Just the other day Biggs was complaining that his "cool factor" doesn't apply anymore since we all caught up to him in gear and weapons and such. I have yet to build crazy contraptions that he has, like his potion machine.

So what do I have to do to get started? Last time I played this I was in Afghanistan farting around with it. I managed to get as far as making my own crappy hut, with a platform on top that had the portal to the netherealm. And once I get minecraft on my PC, how can I access the GC server?

It's a gift...people run towards gifts, and it'll be a natural reaction no matter what. When Valve released the gift session for the end of 2012, their gifts looked different than ours, yet people still chased after them even though it didn't reward a thing. Also, I think Jackie implemented a gift system that made you chase for them? The gifts would appear and start scurrying away, and I would watch like 3 people just chasing after it (running towards the beginning of the map instead of forward). And this was all for 1 point.

Diablo 3's release was horrendous, but it only lasted maybe a few days at most. I don't even own this game and I heard of all the issues with SimCity from my buddies at work. All I can say is that I agree with JC that this is the worst game launch in history. Diablo 3 might be up there because of it's popularity among gamers, and it affected more people, but at least Blizz fixed the main issue right away. Valen you do have a point, but I think you're also adding in the fact that Diablo 3 bombed after the first couple months it was out. Most of that was due to progressive patch releases that had features that were promised when the game was released, like PvP. The auction house destroyed that game, but it wasn't a glitch as much as it was just features like the real-money AH that were promised but not released right away. On top of the over-priced items and low drop rates. SimCity on the other hand flat out doesn't work...which is way worse than Diablo 3's release.

People have been calling that out a lot longer than that. Even before I played on this server I knew that can should be last....and that was over a year ago!

If I could suggest anything to you, I would suggest two things... 1) Corsair AX1200 Gold power supply - I've owned one and put it in my PC about a year and a half ago, and have never had a hiccup. If there is any sort of overdraw, the psu won't even allow you to turn the PC on. It's modular, and has a great warranty. 2) Corsair Obsidian 800D Full ATX case - I also have this. One reason I chose it was because of all the space. I needed the space for water cooling. Another great feature is that it allows you to route and hide all of your cords BEHIND the back plane where the motherboard mounts. It's also solid black, inside and out. PS. Use a solid state drive from OCZ as your OS drive...they have the best ratings. Use regular HDDs for everything else.

Except waiting for that ban can break the game for everyone else playing too. I'm just saying why is there a votekick feature for members if it's always declared as being overused? I mean there's a bannable offense and we are all still having a discussion about why it shouldn't have been used? It may take a while for admins to take care of the issue and make life harder for them while they are playing the game if we votekick...but aren't the admins there for us, the rest of the players?

Well If I was on, I would have liked to vote him off ASAP before he kept ruining the game experience....and then let the admin worry about banning him AFTER the kick went though. I mean why can't we vote kick anyone if what they are doing is bannable?? It's not like admins can't ban outside of the game using sourcebans or a web ban.

Ok so none of this makes sense to me...Locust griefed, yet was named Francis. Mercman started a vote kick because you were griefing and also named as a survivor bot, yet you weren't supposed to be kicked why? I'm even having trouble understanding Maestro's intentions. If he was griefing, why would you veto the vote kick Maestro?
