  1. I don't think this would really work, although its a nice idea. Here is a little known fact. You can headshot any infected from any angle. Yes I mean any angle. That includes shooting a boomer through his gelatinous body and hitting his head. You can shoot a boomer in the nuts, but if the bullet exits the boomers body from the head, a headshot is attained. How many of you have gotten a headshot on a boomer that was flying over your head, I mean directly over your head, that is an example right there. Edit: However, the reverse is not true, if you shoot the head first and it comes out the back, it does not remove your headshot. Basically, if it hits the head at all, entering or exiting, or just passing through one arm, hitting the head and then exiting the other arm, you get a headshot. Edit 2: My whole point of saying this is, you can't really tell if you only hit the head or if the bullet penetrated the body first, which would cause a full explosion.
  2. Incorrect Jerky 24 damage per punch = 1.2 or 1.4 points 24 damage rock throw = 1.2 or 1.4 points
  3. I do not exaggerate, with tier 1 weapons in L4D1 you can kill a tank in 15 seconds. With tier 2 weapons even faster, closer to 10 seconds, why would the transition to the second game where the Tank has all the same properties as the first, change that fact. My statement about the Left 4 Dead 2 Tank in this server is not exaggerate, with the higher tier weapons and even more players shooting, logic states that it should die faster and it does, a good 5 - 7 seconds faster. We have a winner So butthurt
  4. Im still waiting for someone to point out the oddity in my post, then I will know you guys fully read it :3
  5. I've been meaning to post this for some time now because it has really been getting on my nerves lately. People claim stacks in general, and on any team that General is on as well, but there is some times when there is no stack at all, just a good player who has been given a game changer. I am talking about the Tank, but not just any tank, a Clever Tank. Some people will say, Tanks aren't that great, and to a point, these people are right. Given that no buffs have been attributed to a tank other than the fact that he can heal for a certain amount of points, he is still proposes a tough challenge. With 6k health he easily trumps the other infected's ability to withstand a bullet shower and can deal the 2nd most damaging hit in the game. Plenty of you are like, "Get on with it Clony, tell us why we are here." Well I intend to but you need to know some things first. The Tank sucks. He flat out sucks. On any server, he sucks. On this server, he sucks just a hint less than all the rest. Here is a nice piece of information for you on how bad the Tank sucks. From my Left 4 Dead 1 days, and now all of you who are going "Here we go, story time..." bear with me, the Tank is the only real infected that posses a challenge, and even there, in the first game, he sucks. Ill let you know just how bad he sucks. A tank can be killed with tier 1 weapons, those include the pump shotgun, the chrome shotgun, the smg, the silenced smg, and the pistol or double pistol, from 4 survivors in less than 15 seconds flat. You heard me, 15 seconds. The Tank sucks. "Okay we get it the tank sucks, what are you getting at here." Settle down now, here comes the interesting part. Plot twist: The Tank is actually the best. "This is nonsense I am out of here." Sit your butt down we haven't started yet. A Tank can manipulate objects to his advantage, albeit only certain objects, and many of these objects have the ability to instantaneously incapacitate a survivor. It also should be noted that this object that incapacitates a survivor is not stopped on that survivor and can proceed to incapacitate as many as it wants before it stops. I will devour you. This is why he is the best. The tank is the only infected who can indirectly cause an instantaneous incapacitation without being anywhere near or in the sight of the survivors. Sadly, all maps are not littered with objects that can instantaneously incapacitate survivors and this is why the Tank sucks. "We are going in circles Clony." Just read on and quit griping. On any level without these objects, a Tank is at a huge disadvantage. On any level with these objects, the tank is at a huge advantage. On any level without these objects, a Clever Tank is in his natural environment. On any level with these objects, a Clever Tank should win hands down. Here we are, the whole point of this topic right here: Calling stacks in a game where a team just got wiped by a tank, while the other team made it, is utterly wrong and you should be kicked for even saying such ludicrous words. Allow me to explain. A Tank can down all 10 survivors in one swing. The odds of that happening are not high because most people are spread out, but if I get that one lucky hit that just happens to hit all 10 survivors, the round is over in a matter of seconds, maybe 2-4 seconds, and our team now has a massive lead but only because of that lucky hit we had. The teams aren't stacked, we just had a good tank. Given the fact from earlier, about the tank dying in 15 second from 4 tier 1 guns, we can conclude that with 10 guns, which is 2.5 times the amount of bullet spray, and tier 2 guns that most people will have shortly after the round starts, which is double the amount of damage, we can conclude that the tank can die in a good.... 3 seconds of spawning based on statistics. But we will give the benefit of the doubt that not all players are aimbotters and will miss a few shots, so a Tank can die in a good 8-10 seconds. One team can kill this tank that was unlucky and didn't get that nice hit to down all survivors and move on while they also get very lucky and end the round in one hit due to luck. But now due to this, a good distance in score is created and now people begin to call stacks just because the other team got lucky. Give a Tank to a bad player and he will get himself killed. Give a Tank to a good player and he will do some good damage. Give a Tank to a lucky player and he can wipe the team. Give a Tank to a Clever player and he will wipe the team. A Clever Tank utilizes the objects to not only hit survivors with but also to shield himself from incoming bullet fire and reduce overall damage, increasing his lifespan and giving him more time to hit more things at the survivors. A Clever Tank knows when to go in and fight and when to run away and hide. A Clever Tank can wipe the team with just his bare fists. A Clever Tank doesn't need to be lucky. A Clever Tank is.... well you get the point. Just because a Tank wipes the team and the other team makes it to the saferoom, doesn't mean that the game is stacked, it just means that the person behind the Tank was either lucky or Clever. How do you compensate for one person being Clever? You can't, you have to deal with it. Swapping him to the other team doesn't guarantee he can pull off the same trick again and make the game fair again. Swapping good players to the other team is one way to counter this Clever Tank but just swapping all the good players except him to the other team so his Clever Tank can't pull of that tank again will make a stack. Once the Clever Tank is killed, are the players they swapped going to come back? Probably not and a reverse stack will have been created trying to prevent a "stack" or as I like to call it "A Clever Tank." How do you compensate for luck? You can't, you have to deal with it. The odds of the same thing happening twice are not likely. Short Version: The Tank sucks. The Tank rules. Clever Tank is Clever. Luck is Luck. One Clever Player is not stack friendly. Luck is not stack friendly.
  6. Im really curious if you read any of the posts that people put down, you miss quite a lot of details and ask a lot of questions people have already answered, plus this thread died a long time ago and was thought to have been answered So in the words of JackieChan: I hope this helps answer your quesiton. If everyone has short names, we can see everyone, if not, too bad, so sad.
  7. So when you want something new, you dont read bad reviews? To see possible problems? Oh well, forget this, off topic, continue on with the voting
  8. @ Fenix, if you care about this server, I think you should read it, but if you don't well then, kudos for quick decisions @robin, the changes wont happen instantaneously, but there will be a difference in how this server is played now and later down the road if this thing is implemented and there is a good chance people will start to think indivually instead of for their team
  9. Im going to say no, all the way for this. The four mains is the crucial part of this 10v10 that makes it different than the other servers. No longer is it "Im surviving only to get my team points because I count towards points for my teams," and in this server its, "I dont contribute to my team score wise but I can if I keep my mains alive, I will help my team the best that I can." I see this 4 main thing as a way to encourage teamwork, but with this 10 main theory it will destroy the whole idea of it, let me explain. I believe if this gets implemented, a great deal more complaints will come of people rushing and the rushing rules will be bent even further than they are now. Now everyone is seen as getting points and because of this, everyone will look for any sort of excuse to push and get the teams points saying "I got us some points before we all died" when the team wasn't actually in grave danger, but was put that way after they left. Now instead of it being more than half the team incapped at the back with 4 survivors standing and fighting a tank that is close to dying, its going to be about 4 people down in the back, and the other 6 are running away getting points because they see it as "half" the team when the tank is full on health because everyone ran in fear rather than shoot it. Along with these 6 survivors rushing, it will no longer be about saving people, it will be every man for himself. The moment those 6 abandoned 4 perfectly good survivors in the back it became a free-for-all and the fight for the finish will ensue. With each new survivor to be incapped and or pinned, no longer will they be worth saving because more points can be made with 5 pushing forward than all 5 stopping to save a now slower 6th player who will be attacked even more and end up down, and a line of dead bodies will string towards the saferoom until the last survivor makes it or dies. Teleporting to every survivor is perfectly fine and that seems like a nice idea but unless you know exactly where each survivor is and which way you will be turned when you face the survivor you want to attack, the time it takes you to assess your surroundings, find out exactly which way you are facing, which way the survivor is headed, where the spawn points are at, and how to get there from your new locatoin will have taken longer than spawn jumping to the location you know you should be at, know where it is, and know how to get there because you already know your surroundings and know which way to go. Not to mention the fact that if you have any amount of lag at all or if you just dont realize that "this" survivor is the one I'm looking for, hitting "E" one too many times will make you have to loop all the way back around if it is only 1 survivor stuck in the back, then you will have wasted your time going back to him to find out he is back with the team again. I also believe that less points will be shared around to help the team and or mains because now some of the more "c-o-c-k-y" (as to not get caught by the forum filter for a word that is not bad but contains a bad word) players feel they could get further with their own heal points than they could by passing some points to a person behind them who will just get capped again and their points will be wasted. Either this will happen or the players who tend to look down on themselves, or know that other players are better, will tend to send their points not to the people who need it, regardless of skill, but to the best player who has the best chance of survival and getting the team the most points. And now 1 player holds all the points which he doesnt need because he is still up when others are not but could be. Also from this, originally people who were not mains, who told their team to go on or is a bot, will no longer be allowed to be left behind and must be saved. A judgement call by that player to tell the team to go will be overruled by the fact that everyone is now rushing when that player in the back is "perfectly" savable regardless of the location and the fact that all infected are waiting to assault all new players. This would lead to a hopeless rescue attempt that would ultimately not save the original downed survivor but kill him even faster along with knocking down another 2 or 3 survivors to which even more must come back down because the others will be seen as rushing and this just continues to the point where the team gets wiped because one survivor is downed. Rather than losing one survivor and making it to the saferoom and getting a great deal of points because 9v10 is not hard to handle, the team will have died halfway through, getting nothing more than a consolation prize just because one survivor got downed. This is how I see it. Regardless if this gets implemented or not though, I will still play here.
  10. If the general consensus of a scramble is no, then there is little to nothing to be done, and what zero says is true, forcing someone over would only make a worse forum post. Jkap, you are going to be rude to people that are rude to you? You are rude to people who don't even talk anymore. Ill give you an example: There is a player who says close to nothing in game other than takes time to type "!np #" every now and then. This player just plays the game and ignores people as often as possible with the occasional outbursts of text when the player feels like it needs to be there. This player also tries to turn the tides of the game rather than hope for a scramble. Regardless of saying anything, you made a comment to this player which was quite rude, even when this player had done nothing nor said anything the whole game besides just play the game. You feel people shouldn't be rude to you when you hold grudges for an everlasting time and are still rude to people who no longer talk at all, be it to you or to the server. For the same reason you are rude to this person that rarely talks anymore, these other players are rude to you. Your reputation. Your reputation is to join the game, and as soon as you join and play for a few minutes, the first few words that either come from your mouth or that are typed is "Stacked" or "Teams are stacked." You are like the boy who cried wolf and everyone knows this, they tend to ignore your pleas because they know they have no support behind them, much like the story. Regardless of this reputation, admins will still answer your call and try and help you. Even then, as this post clearly shows, you are not satisfied with their help even when they did what they could to help and come here to complain. But the scramble is not based on what ONE person wants but what is the GENERAL CONSENSUS of the full game is and if not everyone wants a scramble, or if people don't care enough to vote, the general consensus is no scramble. In your game, someone who wanted to scramble even swapped to help you, what more can you get? An admin cant force people over just because the teams are stacked. If I was forced I wouldn't play to my best because I didn't want on that team anyways, I might even just leave, and we would be back to square one.
  11. Dessa, my real life job is done in my spare time, I give all my spare time to my job and I take shifts whenever I can, so yes I will compare spare time to my real life job. P.S. Please take the time to type out real life if you are already going to write such a long post. Deadlock you have a fair point, and normally a person would if he doesn't do what he has been told to, and in your case it would be and is true, but after he refused a scramble, for various reasons of his own or those stated here, did you ask for him to swap some people around? If their job is to keep it fun and fair, and I'm not saying in this case he did, because it seems like it was unfair since nothing was done, do they have a specific way of doing it? If your boss tells you to do something and you don't do it his way, but still get it done, possibly more efficiently than intended, would he still fire you? (I am of course suggesting swapping a few as opposed to a scramble because it works out better I believe) I don't know if you asked him to swap some around or not but he only said no to a scramble as far I can see. I don't believe he refused to change the teams overall though, but if you asked him to swap some around as well and he refused then yes, he would be fired in this case. Edit: Although I do believe he should have suggested swapping a few people rather than having to be asked, especially after being asked to scramble and then denying it.
  12. Are you really telling admins to step down and stop being admins simply because they don't like doing something? That's like telling me to quit my job because I don't like it, regardless of how much money it makes me. For admins, its the joy of keeping a server they like fun and clean, not about making money. And that wouldn't solve the problem it would actually make it worse, having less admins means having less on at any time in a given day.
  13. Your laser was bought successfully and applied. The Awp is the only gun that does not physically show a laser sight coming out of the gun, for reasons I don't know but I can guess because its not supposed to be in the vanilla game, not for America at least. However, other people when looking at you can see a laser coming out of your awp. When you heard the sound for the laser sight go on, and your crosshair reduces in size, you have a laser sight. Edit: Do notice the size difference in your crosshair spread when moving without a laser sight, and then with a laser sight. It barely spreads with a laser sight and without it, its quite a huge spread.
  14. I think a thanks is in effect for all the hardworking citizens who are working on fixing this website at the moment, even with as much disarray as it might have been in. I know full well that I haven't done anything to help with it and I know that the people fixing it are doing so out of the kindness of their heart because this isn't their day job, or maybe it is I don't really know anything, and I would like to say thank you for doing all that you have done. Thanks a bunch.

And if its not actually fixing but just upgrading and resetting the links, then allow me to apologize, but then say Thank you again for doing what you are doing.

I mean I can't take all the credit... well I can't really take any credit, but I'm sure FK appreciates it.

  15. Here is my input, and as many have said before, scramble doesn't really help. Even when scrambling by PPM it doesn't help, regardless of how you put them on teams back and forth Spamming fireworks on the ground during hordes is a great way to get your PPM up very fast , especially if you shoot it and then hold a sniper, pistol, or deagle, but what skill does it take to buy a crate, drop it down, shoot it, and wait? None at all and that person gets swapped to the losing team during a scramble when he doesn't help at all and just makes the team worse. Some people are really good have great aim and help the team a lot but have a rather low or just average PPM and they can get swapped over to the winning team even if they are great to start with and just make the winning team better. For the general consensus, and when normals are playing, the PPM scramble works decently, but not the best even with this situation. I'm just glad they try something at the start of the campaign anyways. Personally, I feel that the swapping one or two would be better, always. And to be honest here, and I will not put down a name, though I'm sure the admin will know who he is, but I've had an admin come in and try and scramble the teams at the start of the round, only to make it more lopsided on the winning team already, and then scramble it again five seconds later, which then reversed it to the other team, maybe not as lopsided but still way in favor of the other now losing but soon to be winning team. After that, the admin said privately to me, you know what to do and leaves, to which everyone follows the admins quick decision and starts to rage and the game is ruined not because of an admin, because I know he was trying to help, but because of the scramble that went wrong. I think a few should always be swapped, never scrambled mid-game. Another time we have had someone who really wanted a scramble on the finale of Swamp Fever which had gotten quite lopsided with the new people joining, and had become un-winnable for the losing team, and used !votescramble to do it. All but two players on the winning team were swapped to the losing and all but two players on the losing team were swapped to the winning team. Now that is just pointless.
  16. I think you have some serious eye issues, you new to get that checked if you think that looks even remotely similar...
  17. Well Jackie, left 4 dead is all I play so I figured anything do has to be in here, no?
  18. Hello guys, I decided to upload a video of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 to youtube and would like to see if any of you would like to watch it. It has someone raging in there, thats always nice eh? Although it does have what, two curse words? Maybe not a good idea? Well here it goes?... And don't forget to go 720p =D
  19. Just to let you know, even though I was not involved in any way, votekick will kick a player and ban them for 5 minutes only to prevent instant rejoins. And this is not designed by the admins or the server plugins, the game itself does this, the vanilla game Left 4 Dead 2 does this. So by the time you took to write up this post, which probably wasn't immediately after you got kicked, you are already unbanned
  20. Bro, I would have totally gone, if I had some money, but I have so much crap on my plate to pay for, I don't have the money to buy and or travel up there, let alone the time to take off from my job I just started less than a month ago. And with college coming up and my own tuition to pay for, I have to save and can't waste much at all, sorry man but I would have loved to have gone. But I love the L4D2 servers, mainly because its clean and encourages teamwork, I love the community there because of that.
  21. Not about me? In general, no. But by this description... I can guess that I am included into this post, and therefore, gave my side of the story. And I didn't use only "I" in my post, I used the word "we" as in, we that do this.
  22. You think we "don't contribute till the tank is purchased?" Take for example Dead Air 2, going up that ladder. Hitting a survivor going up that ladder means pushing him back down and allowing a spit to be placed, or a smoker to pull him behind the van. For my case, I know I just don't straight up pounce them, but that is only because I give myself enough time to set up the pounce so I won't miss with a high damage pounce at that spot, but I still work with my team. It may look in some spots that I am only playing for myself, and sometimes that is true, but the more I can stop/incap a low survivor, the more spit that can be thrown into the survivors, and the more survivors that can be either pulled/charged into said spit. For example, a survivor who is yellow is my main target because he has at max 39 health. If I 25 him, I have at max three hits before the dude is incapped, but in a lot of cases will incap them on the spot just from the initial damage. Also think of this, anytime I hit a survivor for a 25, I chip 1/4th of his health away, that is a major potion of his heath, and if i get 1-2 hits at 5 health damage each, that is 1/3rd of the survivors health, and if he, the survivor, has already be chipped, then I will slow him down to a limp, allowing more time for my infected buddies to get in there. I open opportunities, whether or not my team takes them is up to them. But I am helping my team while also gaining points, but you don't see these things do you? I wonder if you realize that you lose 1/4th of your health on impact, or maybe even the 1/3rd I take from you if I stay on you for 1-2 hits, instead of just, "That's his 3rd 25, he has skydiver and a tank." And if you do realize that we are taking 1/4th of your health, then you cannot say we don't contribute to the team till we get the tank, because any damage to the survivors no matter how small is helping your team, because its that extra 1 damage that takes a survivor from 40 to 39 and slows him down a big amount. And by the way, I am talking about that one common that hits you when you are at 40 and brings you down to a 39 all because the boomer had puked on you.
  23. Let me clarify why I put this. It seems to be angled towards her leaving and then joining back on my team, not because of a disconnection. Well this shows she was on my team to begin with and she STILL disconnected because of her problems.
  24. After you pointed it out, she moved over, I have a screenshot of it. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=270182441 I will say at the beginning of the campaign too, after she got disconnected, it was 8 infected, 9 survivors, and some guy swapped over to the infected side, making it 9 infected and 8 survivors She joined immediately back and was put on the survivor team making it 9v9. If she were to swap it would be a 10 infected, 8 survivors, that's stacking right there, let alone the fact that she probably didn't know her team in the first place. And btw jkap, she did not decline to move over, and it wasn't her that blamed her wireless connection, I stated those things. And you did not ask her to move over immediately, you decided to call her a stacker first and say there was a forum post about it. It took you a few minutes of bashing her before you decided to say "i just asked if she can switch over to her regular side" to which she replied "i dont even knwo which side i was on" Jkap, when you tried to argue with me, you were constantly saying, where's the proof, you didn't show any yourself that she was on the infected team to begin with either. If you don't believe jerky, take a look at charon's screenshots, she has about three pictures of her ping at 1000+ and one of those at a good 2000+ Also, I will show you these three screenshots taken later that night, when she was on my team to begin with. The first proves she was on the infected team: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=270186770 The second proves I was on her team (hence your argument is her staying on my team): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=270186787 The third proves she leaves because her wifi is still unstable and she has to fix it: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=270186802 Last edit, all you admins have the chat logs, and I also have screenshots of the whole conversation. Not once did charon "decline" to swap to the other team.
