Well its that time of the year again and this Winter CPL is gearing up to be another great event. I haven't rly tweaked at all. Using latest catalyst drivers Running HL2 at 1024X768 High everything 8xAF 4xAA Averaging around 60-70 fps depending on situation. Take away AA and AF and 90-100. I do get 250 staring at a wall D:

You have to update it. You can't use old versions to connect to servers. Open steam to update it. "cough" Pirated version? "Cough"

WOOHOO finally got the thing up and running with Windows on the machine. Man this thing is FAST. Can't wait to get hl2 running and it up and running fully. THANKS GUYS <3

Well that video card is not good at all. A 9700/9800Pro will be a better investment. I dunno about the others. Seems very generic.

What's RMAing like with outpost? Nice return time? Do they allow it? Not trying to be ignorant just honest questions.

You know everyone has bad shops. It's a fact of life. The RMA process with newegg has gone fairly smooth with me. It's been twice now I have RMAed a board and chip and have yet to pay a dime with a return(Mom ships it from work Fedex so i don't have to pay). When the first RMAed chip took too long, they upgraded the return method to overnight free of charge. Not a big deal to them. Granted you have ur opinions and your entitled to them, but with my first purchase from the site I must say I am happy. Things came quick and RMAing has never been easier. I have heard some horror stories about RMA's with dif websites about waiting over 2-3 months just to get a replacement. Who wants to wait that long? The site may be good for purchasing stuff but if you get a blown mobo and have to RMA it, your not going to want to wait 3 months for a replacement. I believe Newegg will still always be the top notch site for purchases and support. They seem to be on top of things IMO. Sure you can find stuff cheaper from other sites(I didn't purchase my vid card from newegg but from allstarshop) but from my history of purchases IRL and online, I'd rather have better service and support than lower prices. I guess also my outlook on things is a bit dif. from you older gentlemen. As long as I get the thing I'm fine. If it takes an extra day so be it, as long as its in working condition. I've also found that Newegg's updating of the site is slower than expected. Just from multiple RMA's and orders. O well done with my ranting :yawn:

Well there are really only 3 choices in my eyes. Haven't heard anything good about the gigabyte board. My first 939 board was the MSI board but after building we couldn't get windows installed on the thing. Could have just been a bad board. Got a refund and went with the ASUS. I might have blown the AGP slot installing or it could have been DOA. Currently waiting for my replacement ASUS from Newegg then giving it to a pro to install. I don't want to mess up a 3rd board and want to get my new rig up and running. I'm sure the others will agree with these.

Since it is almost time for the new years(Yes Christmas is first but I'm excited this year =D) Whats everyone's plans? Do any of you have rituals aka. do the same things with the same people every year? For the first time, I'm actually heading to the city and its not to see the ball drop . Turns out my favorite DJ is spinning at a club New Years Eve and a bunch of us are goin that night. Its going to be so sick. It also marks only 10 Days til I turn 21 years old Anyone whose on the EC and is into Trance/Dance music I suggest you go(Killer ). DJ Tiesto, another popular DJ is spinning in Hollywood NYE as a joint thing with PVD the same night. Just curious as to what everyone does during the night. I'm sure another topic will be started when it comes time but I'm too anxious lol.

The windows 64 Bit beta came with the mobo I believe cause when I ordered the MSI board thats what it came with. Doesn't come with the chip to my knowledge.

Way to copy my system D: Video card was higher priced than mine, chip was cheaper. It all evens out I guess. Nice ram as well. Yours will probably run exactly the same as mine cause you have basically all the same parts except a dif. mobo and ram. Mines not even running yet cause I like to get busted motherboards ;/ so I should be getting the replacement this week yet again. The video card is the best part. I can't wait to play HL2 with this new thing, its going to be insane. I'd suggest to at least add 1 or 2 fans to the front, you want some air coming into the machine. Your rear 2 whould be fine as well as the side 1. I don't know if that power supply is going to work out, the tech heads will be able to answer that. I know I had to buy a new powersupply just because you got a lot of things to power that do require a lot of it. I'll let zero and AK comment on this. A decent enermax or Antec power supply could do wonders. You never want to have a flimsy power supply and that is what a lot of people go lower quality with a lot of the times. GL with the new system. Its going to be nice and let us know how it runs. Once mines up and running it'll be a great day.
