spiralstairs September 28, 2004 Share spiralstairs Member September 28, 2004 Today I got to thinkin bout all those old PC adventure games that I used to love...grim fandago, monkey island series, etc... so my question is, they still makin good adventure games? any good ones out or coming out? i havent been paying attention to Pc gaming in the past few years so if any good adventure games did get released they probably slipped under my radar. -noah
Penty September 28, 2004 Share Penty Member September 28, 2004 (edited) Syberia I was good, 2 was so-so. The Longest Journey was good, #2 is in the works. Look for games published by The Adventure Company. Most of them are at least decent. Edited September 28, 2004 by Penty
ConGregation September 28, 2004 Share ConGregation Member September 28, 2004 Been thinking about picking up Syberia 2. Is it worth it, Penty? (played the first one)

Crowbar September 29, 2004 Share Crowbar Member September 29, 2004 A hilarious and fun adventure game released a year or so ago by LucasArts is "Armed and Dangerous." Might give it a try. It's more of a 3rd person shooter than an adventure game, but it does retain some of the trademark LucasArts adventure stuff that Grim Fandango had in it. Besides that, it's the single funniest game I have ever played.
dwEEziL September 29, 2004 Share dwEEziL Member September 29, 2004 (edited) The new Sam and Max game has been canceled, as well as the Full Throttle 2 game. Grrr, I was annoyed by both of these cancellations. Edited September 29, 2004 by dwEEziL

Penty September 29, 2004 Share Penty Member September 29, 2004 Syberia 2 is worth playing. My biggest gripe with it is that there is no real character development.
ConGregation September 29, 2004 Share ConGregation Member September 29, 2004 Thanks. Myst4 is coming out soon as well. I know hardcore gamers despise the Myst series but my wife and I like to play them together. Having my wife waste time alongside me alleviates the usual guilt associated with gaming
spiralstairs October 2, 2004 Author Share spiralstairs Member October 2, 2004 I just got Beyond Good and Evil, a really good action/adventure game. It was brand new 10 bucks, I figured I could not go wrong. Its not a traditional type of adventure game (I think they have it for the PC though, I got it for Xbox) but it seems to have a really good story (so far), good voice acting, and personality. All the traits that made those old Lucasarts games so good. The gameplay is pretty swell, too.
Penty October 5, 2004 Share Penty Member October 5, 2004 I picked up BGE for the PC, I enjoyed it. The Hovercraft is a little tricy to driver however.

auggybendoggy October 13, 2004 Share auggybendoggy Member October 13, 2004 I want to get the old infocom games. They're all text and I remember I liked em more than the graphic games. In the old days there were myst type games but I found the text left better images in your head much like reading a book.....BUT DANG they are hard. I finished only 1 outta like 3. I finished zork 1 and did not compelte zork 2, enchanter or nemesis (graphcal). flippin games always got me all pee'd off. Auggy
