Sir Shertown Pimp November 8, 2005 Author Share Sir Shertown Pimp Member November 8, 2005 it wasn't what I expected at all, I'm not going to rate it I don't think, but every single other person that has seen it thought it was awesome, this was mostly college freshman guys though. stutters November 8, 2005 Share stutters GC Alumni November 8, 2005 ok, no rating is cool. please circle one: $10 theatre experience or $3 rental
witt November 9, 2005 Share witt Member November 9, 2005 Yes, i no longer hit the theatre, as Netflix is the bomb. Also, why pay $10 to see a movie when you can but it for $17? Oh well, i guess i just don't mind waiting to see something
stutters November 9, 2005 Share stutters GC Alumni November 9, 2005 agreed, but still, some movies warrant an out of the house expedition. star wars episode 3 would be one such movie. sin city was another. it doesn't sound like jarhead is in this category. YoMamma November 9, 2005 Share YoMamma Member November 9, 2005 Im going to wait for DVD with Jarhead. Ive been hearing that it lacks in the action department.
Brillow_Head November 9, 2005 Share Brillow_Head Member November 9, 2005 I heard it was dumb. No real action, just talk and drama.
stutters November 9, 2005 Share stutters GC Alumni November 9, 2005 ugh, that sounds like that crappy fx show "over there." pulled you in with good gun fights, but before you knew it, you were crying about some love affair taking place stateside. TheReverend(c) November 9, 2005 Share TheReverend(c) Member November 9, 2005 Havent seen Jarhead yet. I was assigned to plenty of em in Iraqi Freedom, First Marine Expeditionary Unit. All of them are crazy.
General J November 9, 2005 Share General J Member November 9, 2005 I personally thought it was a good movie. I heard that it was leaning towards the anti-war crowd, which almost made me think twice about seeing it. Totally different movie than what I was expecting. I was looking forward to a Blackhawk Down type action flick. Definitely some good thoughts and feelings expressed though. A couple of guys on a bike forum I frequent discussed the author that wrote the main storyline as being quite a whiner. They said the movie had cut a lot of the whining out. It was an eye opening movie for anyone that thinks of war as the glorious/john wayne/shoot em up action cliche. I am sure some of the plot was stretched quite a bit, but on the same note I am sure most of it is pretty close to reality.
Sir Shertown Pimp November 11, 2005 Author Share Sir Shertown Pimp Member November 11, 2005 do you guys know anything about desert storm? There was almost no ground combat, but this is definitely an interesting aspect of war you might not of thought of or seen before. I enjoyed and recommend seeing it in theaters. There was some ground fireworks, but that was just us shooting at all the surrendering Iraqis thinking they were some huge force coming to get us.We didnt think so many would surrender
