Scourge January 25, 2006 Share Scourge Member January 25, 2006 Hey guys, I've got a BFG 6600gt oc. I just got a better cpu/mobo and whatnot. My gpu is now running quite a bit hotter. It's hitting 75*C and possibly higher. How hot can it get before I should start to worry? I'm probably going to grab another cooler for it, just don't know when. (most likely one of the big zalman units) Thanks -George

Ice_Berge_00 January 26, 2006 Share Ice_Berge_00 GC Alumni January 26, 2006 70's and low/mid 80's are nothign to worry about. That's the normal running temps for GF 6 series cards. If you check the nVidia control panel temps you'll see it doesn't get into the red until over 90C. You're performance won't be seriously affected until you get above that, and damage to the card won't occur until that point either. Believe me you are safe. I've had some experience with this unfortunately, my card has issues and gets up to 115C
