The Dell 24" seems to be the way to go as far as a dual function monitor...many good review, great color, no ghosting, and good resolution as well as contrast ratio. I think I saw some the other day for right around $589. That will probably drop in the next 2-3 months.

dwEEziL June 3, 2006 Share dwEEziL Member June 3, 2006 Viewsonic is an excellent brand as well, but you're gonna pay for it (although I saw a 19" with potential on buy.com for under $300 recently).

Maximum PC just gave pretty good accolades to the newest NEC LCD. Great for games, mate.
Cobalt June 5, 2006 Share Cobalt Member June 5, 2006 I dont think the NEC one is really all that large though Dun. The Dell widescreen monitors are really some of the best quality larger monitors you can get right now especially for that cost.

igloo June 5, 2006 Share igloo Member June 5, 2006 I went with a Dell 2405. Every few days there's a new summer sale. Hold off until you see the 15% off deal (always comes with free shipping!). OR Go on EBay and try to find a %30 off Dell coupon (they go for around $30-50).

J. Dunlavy June 11, 2006 Share J. Dunlavy Member June 11, 2006 The Dell LCD do NOT have 4 ms refresh rate spec.
anonymo June 14, 2006 Share anonymo Member June 14, 2006 The Dell WideScreens are enticing, but I'm a little wary of why they are cheaper than others (by about $500) They also don't list the response time of their 30" which makes me wonder, it's probably 16ms It also has a lower contrast ratio than its 24" counterpart Man I gotta win the lottery...
