s|im smi|ey June 3, 2006 Share s|im smi|ey Member June 3, 2006 I've used "Edit Plus" for web designer... granted I'm not the best or savy web builder, but just wanted to know if there was anything out there was good and easy. "Edit Plus" makes me have to script everything in.... very tired of having to do all that typing. Any suggestions?
EbilDustBunny June 3, 2006 Share EbilDustBunny GC Alumni June 3, 2006 :/ FrontPage? It is not as flexible as the all mighty notepad... you can also look into dreamweaver. I used this too when I was a wee script bunny... 6-7 years ago http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/ http://www.webmonkey.com also is still my little cheatbook. mookie June 3, 2006 Share mookie GC Alumni June 3, 2006 A plain text editor is the best you can get. If you want to get really into it, I'd snag this guy which looks like the more recent replacement for the first programming book I ever had ("Instant HTML"). Not to sound like a commercial, but I've seen quite a few programming books and Wrox seems to have the clearest.
Bubblegum Bandit June 4, 2006 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member June 4, 2006 a good text editor will do whatever you need but.... I use dreamweaver in programmer mode. I messed around with GUI mode and it just drove me crazy. I hand code everything in, but its nice because DW will automatically flip up choices when you go to do standard input and you don't have to do all the typing. Another advantage to DW is the save and upload function. Fill in a few pieces of info, and every time you hit save it will automatically upload the file to your server. dwEEziL June 4, 2006 Share dwEEziL Member June 4, 2006 I've played around with Evrsoft's 1stPage 2000 and they've recently release 1stPage 2006 after saying it was "coming soon" for several years. 1stPage web designing software is freeware too. http://www.evrsoft.com/
Ice_Berge_00 June 4, 2006 Share Ice_Berge_00 GC Alumni June 4, 2006 I've used HTML kit for my webpage. But it really depends on what you're looking for. There's tons of tools out there.
