Laz.e.rus August 25, 2006 Share Laz.e.rus Member August 25, 2006 1- plug in the powersupply but dont turn it on. touch it VERy often to remove static buildup in your body ( seriously..not a Laz-joke). 2- Go slowwwwwwww 3- When moving parts around, putting stuff in, move slowly, watch all the corners/edges/etc. Ive busted corner chips off of vid cards, and bent a capacitor off a mobo cuz my wrist was leaning against it and using it for pressure and I didnt realize. 4- other than that, your actually pretty safe for a build. No static + dont bump anything and snap it off = good to go. Assemble the stuff on your mobo BEFORE you put it in the case (cpu/fan/vid/ram)..will save some real headaches. Heres some pic guides ( for amd but itll help-same basic idea) http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20832 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6615 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...mp;postcount=

Lunk August 25, 2006 Share Lunk Member August 25, 2006 Build it at the kitchen table or somewhere without carpeting on the floor. Keeps the chances of an ESD arc to a minimum.
