Madvillain June 9, 2013 Share Madvillain Member June 9, 2013 Astro A40's are worth EVERY PENNY! The sound on them is great but I found them uncomfortable for long stretches of time and I feel like they feel too cheap (plastic-ey and rigid) for their price. Barashin June 10, 2013 Share Barashin Member June 10, 2013 HEADSETS: I use the Razer Star Wars: The Old Republic Headset currently ($69.99): http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00635NHLA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370842851&sr=8-2&keywords=razer+star+wars. Pretty fantastic. I actually prefer it to my old Logitech G35 which always made a faint high pitch noise in the left ear. I prefer the usb driver because I'm too lazy to install a soundcard. It also matches my lightsaber lamp nicely: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/eb55/?srp=1 (bastard dropped from $32.99 to $14.99 the day after I ordered it). If you're looking at the steelseries v2 (which has no virtual drivers), consider this you CSGO nut: http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Gaming-Headset-Counterstrike/dp/B0090XWUCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370842976&sr=8-1&keywords=steelseries+v2+cs+go HEADPHONES: I currently own the Skullcandy Aviators. They are really sleek and sound great. http://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-S6AVFM-156-Aviator-Headphones-Black/dp/B007GN0MHK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370843363&sr=8-1&keywords=skullcandy+aviator Also, I hear great things and am considering upgrading to the Audio-Technica ATH-M50. Here's a great deal on the ATH-M50WH (50% off - $99): http://www.dealmoon.com/99-ATH-M50WH-Audio-Technica-Modified-Professional-Closed-Back-Studio-Headphones-with-detachable-coiled-cable-White/247844.html. Also available for $169.99 on Amazon. If you opt for a headphone, pick up a clip-on mic: http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370843432&sr=8-1&keywords=clip+microphone

walkingCat June 21, 2013 Share walkingCat Member June 21, 2013 (edited) Very old, but they work as new, no problems at all. I hoped they die and then I can buy something new, however I changed my mind I want them live forever. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16826159202 Edited June 21, 2013 by walkingCat
Sky August 2, 2013 Share Sky Member August 2, 2013 (edited) headset: http://www.razerzone...razer-tiamat-71 review: http://www.overclock...eadset_review/1 audio card: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Titanium-Fatal1ty-Professional-PCI-Express/dp/B002ZCQR1C/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1375461729&sr=1-1&keywords=x-fi+titanium+fatal1ty (Discontinued, though) (Card w/ I/O Port) review: http://www.guru3d.co...l_champion.html Have tried a lot of headsets; Corsair , Steelseries , Turtle Beach (just stay away) , Plantronics , Sennheiser , but I find the audio quality superb in this headset. Unfortunately, this was also one of their best audio cards, which they discontinued to make way for the Recon3D series, which I have to stress, stay away from it. The headset itself was on sale on Canada Day at Best Buy for 129.99 , but for everyone else, it's available at places like newegg and ncix for 169.99. Sant August 8, 2013 Share Sant Member August 8, 2013 Well now, a topic I love to go on about. Using Senn HD 380s and Zalman clip on mic, both running through an Asus Essence STX sound card (with 7.1 virtual =D). Main walkabout phones include Audio Technica ATH-M50s and V-Moda Crossfade LPs, and a pair of Senn HD 558s for lounging. Have another 10 pairs of Senns, Koss, AKG, and others for my collection. Seriously, love them all.
Smeg August 17, 2013 Share Smeg Member August 17, 2013 (edited) I've been using these Klipsch headphones that I also use for the iphone. They can be had for ~$89 http://www.klipsch.com/image-one-ii-headphones They sound very good with an Asus Xonar D2X W/7.1 Virtual for games. Also highly recommend AKGs Edited August 17, 2013 by Smeg
