  1. Managed to steal 30 minutes daddy time and wow, I loved this demo, looks beautiful, as Kruten says, loads of "interaction" with the environment. I can't wait for the whole game now.....
  2. I've seen the spray a load of times and have taken screen shots of it, but not to post in the "ban" forum...............................................................
  3. Ok, looks like the single player demo is now out, 1.8GB currently downloading
  4. Well I guess it does have 6 sides (if you include the "air" side), but it's not a hexagon. I'm also not sure how it's described as a "window", it looks pretty difficult to see through.
  5. I know there was a separate facebook thread, but, I've only been on there for about 3 months and if I get bitten by one more person, invited to pet somone's elephant, given the opportunity to grow a gift for someone, requested to add a graveyard etc. etc. I'm seriously tempted to close my account. I never had a myspace account and never intend to, but the way things are going Facebook appears to be fast becoming the illegitamate child of Myspace and some 15 year old CS player who would not be welcome on the GC servers.

    CoD4

It is a very very small demo, does look great though and ran beautifully with everything turned up. From the gameplay it seemed very, very in tune with previous COD titles and I did love all three.
  7. Based on some of the feedback above, I may have been too quick to judge and will probably reinstall the demo. I only tried it as a blademaster, perhaps another class is more "up my street". But I don't think I'd be likely to buy it until I've seen some further reviews, ideally here where I can trust the feedback
  8. Don't get me wrong, I kind of enjoyed it in a slicing my way through the undead way and perhaps the demo is only the tip of the iceburg, but having been sent on quests on 3 streets that looked just the same and investigated 4 sections of the underground (admittedly 3 were the same station) that all looked exactly the same the demo has actually discouraged me from buying it. When you've been through two underground sections and know by the third one that when you get to the second "locker room" you're probably near the thing you have to collect, or, oh I've killed the 3/3 blood zombies best go back and get my nice new pants, it kind of lost interest from a questing perspective.
  9. There's a limit as to how long I want to run around performing "go fetch" quests in the London underground and very very short sections of london streets. It looks pretty enough, but I don't see much from the demo that would get me hooked.
  10. May not be a solution, interesting piont though............................ having moved here from the UK with DVD players, 2 televisions and a PS2 in tow, I discovered that both my PAL televisions would play anything from the US: DVDs, regular television signal and games systems, but trying to play anything with a PAL output signal failed dismally on US televisions.
  11. Never tried it so frankly I have no idea if it's possible, doable or even the case. I know several stores have points around their 360 sections where you can plug in memory cards for "exclusvie content", I have never done it and I have absolutely no idea whether these have the updates in a copyable format or not, but it's the only idea I can think of.

It's out, damn this thing called work. Perhaps today will end up being a short day in the office.................................
  13. 100% agreed, it was only after I'd finished downloading the file I realized it was MP. Seems to be a good game though, a little "stuttery" but it is a beta.
  14. I wish I had more free time in the week to play more of this, I've loved it the fewish times I've had a chance to get on our server. Roll on the weekend........
  15. Well with a little bit of hard searching I managed to find a boxed P4S8X for sale on the interweb for $55, so problem solved (fingers crossed). Now here's the next question, if I'm switching out 1 mobo for an identical mobo, will I need to do a complete reinstall of XP or should it be a straight switching of parts?
  16. I have, but I have this 7800 AGP card sat around that I'd prefer to use than junk. Edit: Thank you for the input though.
  17. Hi, after my new build I passed my old PC down to my wife who rarely plays games and wanted to pass her pc down to my eldest daughter. Anyway, got my wife's pc up and running beautifully and went to get my daughter's pc up and running well, it looks like the AGP slot on the P4S8X is dieing. I've tried 3 different graphics cards (FX 5950, 6800 GT and a 7800 GS (I think)) in the slot and they are all putting out similar performance. Now my wife was having some issues previously with Flash animations occasionally causing the PC to reboot and I assumed it was a bad graphics card or the old (5 year old) psu dieing. It now looks like it could have been the AGP slot. I'm only running the online PCPitstop tests on the machine, and each graphics card was putting out a hideously low score, but they were all around the same figure despite the differences in the cards. I know that it may be another issue and any suggestions are welcome, but if it's the AGP slot I'd prefer to buy a new mobo than do some kind of new build for a 9 year old who really will only use it for the internet, homework and occasionally playing some child friendly adventure games. I've done a search on Newegg and it seems to come up with 3-5 mobo's that support Socket 478 (it's a 3.06 GHZ P4 I believe cpu I believe) and have AGP, but they all look to be "micro-atx". Any thoughts/suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance Lev.
  18. I know a lot of people who've had issues with Razer mice, however, I have a Diamondback that I've used for just over 2 years without any kind of mouse issues (I did have a tiny problem but that turned out to be the USB2 port dieing, not the mouse) and I still love it. Edit: I think the Diamondback 3G is about $50 direct from Razer, I've also recently picked up a Razer Tarantula Keyboard, and I'm equally impressed with that.
  19. I was really enjoying it until I ran into the press Y Y Y Y X B Y A Y Y A X B piece and after falling to my death/being eaten 5 times I shut the demo down. I think I'd be better with one of those "guided button pressing bits" on a keyboard, if the PC version even has those parts. I did think it was pretty gorgeous to look at and fun to play until that point, so I may just give it benefit of the doubt and get it when it comes out, but I'll try the PC demo first.
  20. No lecture, but I'm guessing you've gone back asking for another 1K. I second NOFX, Craigslist is a great resource and used by a surprising number of people. Also, before you walk away from a possible sale, think about how much it'll cost you to have the car for another month or two, it's only going to drop in value and is it going to cost you 1K including insurance over that time frame if it doesn't sell? It may be better to take the money and run.
