The thing that really had me hooked in HL1 was the feeling that you were almost in a scifi-action movie. Hopefully Black Mesa will do the same.

My wife has epilepsy. I just boght a 37" Vizio hd lcd. Just got the insanely expensive hdmi cable (Holy Spiccoli $40!!!). She hasnt had any problems so far. But she cant play the games I play but she can play older snes games. The motion blur on some units ive heard can make people sick in low light rooms.

It looks kinda goofy. A lot like a power ranger outfit. If I had worn that in Iraq, I would have died from heat exhaustion. ok its a suit of armor but then you would still have to carry water (at least 2 quarts), 200+ rounds of ammo, your 15lb m16 rifle 0r if you were really lucky 45lb m249 saw with ammo drums, is the suit NBC capable? if not youll need to bring a ruck sack with your NBC "snowsuit" with you and face mask pouch, grenades, radio, MRE's,......

Decided to go completely thru all the new media. I gotta say this could be better than HL1 and 2. There really making progress.

Prolly end up like that Marylin Monroe mystery 10 years from now.

In a few years when this is out and most likely popular, a lot of the "younger folk" are probabaly going to mistake Black Mesa Source as the original instead of HL1 back in 98'. Id bet money on it.

Setup looks great to me. Id go with a little bigger ps too. 750watt seems to be a good all around number. If you ever get a second 8800 youll need it. And I too also have 2 7800 gts in sli. Mine run great but cant run dx10. Guess im upgrading soon too. Also everone here that has purchased an 8800 knows that youll need neew power adapters. Hopefully your will come with some if not their not real expensive.

Yea a lot of lcd hdtv companys use one company for a lot of their monitors and just rename them. For instance, LG monitors are used almost exclusivly for Advent, Maxent, Olevia etc. So when you buy these you may be thinking your buying a cheap alternative to the major brands but your actually buying good LG monitors for cheaper.

A lot of games like farcry, fear, painkiller, DA CSS and a cast of many. I can play just about anything including Doom 3 in ultra mode without a hitch maxed out.

Yea went to barnes and nobles and bought the latest version of comptia's latest Linux +. Read it for a few dyas took the test (long test let me tell ya) got 97%. One question with networking got me I think. Thanx for the input all.

Pain killer black and gold have been out for about a year now so when i saw a "Special Edition" version on sale for $10 of course I picked it up. Attempted to install it but but it needed a no cd fix. Downloaded cd fix but it would only load to the start screen. Checked the net for game patches and found a huge 1.61 game patch. Downloaded patch and game was able to load only to option screen. Found 1.62 patch and installed it once again I was able to get a little farther but no joy on the play. Installed 1.63 and 1.64 and was overjoyed to get to a game loading screen.... and then variouse popup screens started to appear stating that this or that model or script wasnt found. I have a bs degree in physics and and a 2 year degree computer repair so I began to wonder if maybe my brain was beginning to burn out on me. As I sat and pondered the issue I decided to look at the cd case once again. To my dismay I noticed in the top left corner a small yellow triangle stating this : "Includes 12 levels from the original game!". !?!?!?!?! AND !?!?!?!.... I was basically playing an extended version of the demo of painkiller. And trying to apply patches and fixes to the demo that were for the full game. Moral of the story folks: If it looks to good to be true than mostly likely it is. and

I have 64 bit issues with farcry running too fast. Here are some ways to resolve it. San Andreas and Vice city have patches for these problems. 1. If you have any Cool n quiet software disable it. 2. Ive heard that windows media player can cause this. mute it. 3. disable any Power Management options youve recently enabled. 4. check and see if there are any patches available for it. 5. Could also be an issue with the video card driver. Install new drivers if you havent and check their site for anyone having posted similer probs. 6. Adjust the antialiasing up or down and see what happens. Hope it helps.

Steam support wont load either maybe they are down.

Loading... Loading... Dont know what the hey is up with my net connection lately but it sure doesnt like me for some reason.

Is steam down today or is it just me? Just sits there and then says its having probs connecting to steam. My net connection is good.
