  1. You can pretty much do that with powered tracks, some redstone, and a detector rail. Only the "other cart as a booster" thing was nerfed.
  2. I love how the video cuts off right after she says "you're kidding." in a kind-of-what-the-eff annoyed way.
  3. Crap, I updated my client and now I can't get in to our server to survey my devices Oh well, designing them is half the fun anyway, I suppose.
  4. I realize one does not simply WALK away from Skyrim, but eventually you get to the point where it's time to put it down for a bit and play something different. I think I'm pushing 90 hours in it now, and I'm about ready to polish off the main story line then put it down for a while. YOR TOOR SHUL NEED MOAR MINECRAFT
  5. Man, I really want this... It's pretty much the only reason I haven't sold my Wii yet... NEED MOAR MONIES!
  6. I wasn't totally thrilled with my setup on the 1.8 server, so I'm OK with my stuff not being saved. That said, some people put WAY more work into theirs, so I'm fine either way. If it gets some of the addicts back like DF, then DO IT.
  7. I can't argue with that, although I will say the new Android devices coming out are just as powerful, if not moreso, from a pure hardware standpoint. I will also say that the gaming "experience" will be more consistent on iPhone though since developers tend to concentrate on that platform, and there isn't the fragmentation issue that is inherent with Android. I can honestly say though that despite the fact that I consider myself a "hardcore" gamer, I rarely game on my phone, and I've never given a phone recommendation to someone who cares about gaming on it. Maybe I'm just not hanging out with the right people... ETA: I would love to see something like the Xperia Play running ICS with similar hardware to the Droid Razr or Galaxy Nexus. Trim down a little thickness from it and still give me something resembling REAL controls, then I'll consider doing some serious gaming. The 5-minutes-in-line gaming scene just isn't my thing, I want to play stuff like Link to the Past on my phone without screaming obscenities at the on-screen d-pad.
  8. Yeah, ummm.... My male Nord BAMF beat some other mercenary type guy in a fistfight in Morthal, after which he said "Is that an amulet of Mara?" Then I was all "WTH????" Broke his heart, apparently. He was also the first NPC to express interest. Ugh. Had to cleanse myself by breaking off a piece of Mjoll
  9. Any word yet on when Bukkit might be ready so we can get our server up to date? I'm jonesing for some minecraft, mannnn....
  10. Um, they died? During the quest in the abandoned shack, I offed the lady, then was given "Quest Failed" for joining the brotherhood, followed by "Quest Received: Destroy the Brotherhood". All it really seems to have netted me is a little more noteriety amongst the guards, recognizing my excessive badassery.
  11. Apparently, reading is somewhat important to the relevancy of comments. Congrats to the purchaser, congrats recinded to lousiest. Better luck next time, champ!
  12. I'm marking this day down on my calendar, as I am quoting stutters in agreement. This is basically what I tell people when they ask me about phones, with the small modification that I also think Android can be for the "basic user" as much as the iPhone can be. I have had my Droid X since it was released a year and a half ago, and have loved it. I like to tinker with it (and apparently I need to check out the awesome sauce app ZD described above) and I hate the thought of being confined into the "Jobs experience". I also build my own computers, so I guess I fit the profile. If someone is not pre-disposed one way or the other, I tell them to find the phone hardware they like and roll with it. If they only want a phone that they won't have to screw with much and will talk to their MacBook Air, then I tell them to go iPhone. Also, iTunes blows.
  13. I crushed the Dark Brotherhood under my Ebony Boot. During the "recruitment" quest I went all "screw you lady!" then smote the lot of them. Kinda hoping I can do the same to the Thieves Guild, but I haven't found anyone who is willing to unleash me upon them.
  14. if you want to make a rebuke to what i said on the other thread; go ahead. don't go around mocking what i type when you had nothing to contribute to that conversation anyways. on topic; check out this site aswell; http://www.gpureview.com Don't worry man, it's just a joke. I don't take myself very seriously on these forums, just ask around. congrats on the purchase, lousiest!
  15. I don't even bother with horses, I'm too paranoid that the 1000g investment is going to get shanked by an ice troll or some douchebag bandits. Walking ftw. Also, no, I'm not going to steal horses. That's not my character's M.O.
  16. Ugh, I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Minecraft on a phone sounds like a nightmare, not a dream. I hate touch screen "pads" for player movement. ..... also, I just bought it anyway
  17. Despite what others may say, the GTX570 is an awesome card. It has crushed anything I have thrown at it thus far. You probably can't go wrong with either, but I'm partial to nvidia myself.
  18. Parts of this thread may as well have been written in a foreign language to me. Nerds.
  19. You can improve your gear (I use the term "level" because there are several levels of improvement) by using grinding wheels for weapons and workbenches for armor. For instance, a Steel Sword can become a "Steel Sword (Fine)" with better damage for lower level smithing. As smithing skill improves, that same sword can be improved as well (exquisite, flawless, epic, legendary). Hence, my Skyforge Steel Sword and Nord Hero Sword, while technically inferior materials to Ebony, are both "Epic", and deal quite a bit more base damage then the Ebony swords I have found. Same with my Plate Steel armor. Until I improve my smithing to unlock improvements for Ebony stuff, I'm going to be rocking my current set up. I have taken to mining any ore I can get my hands on, turning it into forging armor, then using the leftover ore to improve that stuff, then sell it for a profit. This has worked particularly well for dwarven stuff, since all that dwemer metal you find in the dwemer ruins can be smelted into dwarven metal bars for smithing. The Enchantments are just icing on the cake after that. My enchanting skill is only 41, so the enchantments I put on my stuff are still pretty weak, but thankfully you can level up (albeit slowly) by recharging your enchanted weapons, which helps. Also, (and I don't think this is a big spoiler, it was in Oblivion as well) get Azura's Star if you're going to enchant. You'll thank me later.
  20. I am completely addicted to smithing. I just now have started finding my first ebony stuff, but have to put it on the shelf because it's not as good as my "epic" leveled steel plate armor and hand-made-and-enchanted Nord Hero Sword of Frost. Need to level up my smithing so I can upgrade the ebony stuff. I've got a tank build (one-handed/shield) with some arrows and restoration magic sprinkled in. I like to get down in the muck and decapitate fools, not let minions do my dirty work.
  21. Yeah no kidding, so Intel is going to buy Nvidia like AMD bought ATI? I side with nVidia. I'm not a fanboy or anything, but ATI screwed me about 10 years ago on a RMA by sending back a lower tier model card. Haven't bought anything by them since. Well ATI may have screwed ya but there are a ton of manufacturers that back there ATI based cards. EVGA, XFX, Powercolor, Visiontek etc all back up there stuff and have pretty good customer relations for this sort of issue. HIS once sent me a card that was a 2 step up from mine. I had an ATI 9600xt and they sent me the 9800xt MSI, Sapphire, Zotek, Gigabyte and ECS are known for giving people a much harder time. Now this is with a valid receipt for a new purchased card, not some eBay "hope it works" purchase. FWIW, EVGA is Nvidia only. I'm on my third EVGA nvidia card and they are the primary reason I have stuck with Nvidia. EVGA's customer service is second to none. But yeah, the "monopoly" comment is pretty funny considering AMD/ATI did it first.
  22. Decapitations can happen randomly, but I think you might need to have the one-handed perk for it. I do, and it's always satisfying to watch. That said, you can't "collect" the heads after you sever them. I believe the witch heads crasx mentioned were from the witches near the end of the companion's quests. Quest-specific items, of which you receive way more than you actually need. Also, I rolled a sabercat down a mountain. I felt a sense of accomplishment afterwards.
