Instead of having this as a menu item, you could just have the respawn time decrease gradually as the round time increases. Knock 1 second off the respawn time for every 5 minutes of round time... or somethin' like that. Might be an interesting variant, to motivate/punish the survivors.

I wonder--will there be much interest in having a private bf4 server? If the interest exists, and someone willing to lead the server, we could try it out. If it's moderately successful, a player base can grow.

Server now running vanilla (no plugins) 1.7.2, with the 'Survival' map we've had for a long time. Will re-add plugins when possible.

Due to some update that came through NFo, the server was repeatedly crashing. Seems to be running out of memory, but I still have to do some research on which plugins need to be fixed. At this moment, the server is running the most up to date game version without any bukkit plugins, which is 1.7.2. I assure you this is a temporary measure--the map we had will be back, no worries. Might be a week or so till I have time, since I'm traveling Fri-Sun.

I would welcome anything that can add more fun to the game that doesn't add confusion or unwanted complexity--because you're right, we like to keep it vanilla. If jockeys are really such a bad option compared to other SI, you could increase the points gained/amount of time, but as it is right now a perfect jockey (incaps a suvivor from 100hp) gains around 40 pts? It's a lot.

With good teamwork, a jockey can be extremely effective as he can isolate a survivor and gain a huge amount of points pretty quickly. Don't think any of the SI have any 'buffs', aside from gaining more or less points for specific actions.

What exactly does the option -processheap do? I've been having very low fps the last few times that I played, guess I'll have to try that out.

My opinion is that it would be easier to wait, so things like dynmap, stats, etc. can transition seamlessly. But how badly do you want it?

The guy playing Kirk is Vic Mignogna--has done a ton of voice-acting. Probably best known (at least by me) for voicing Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist. Also, Mr. Simone is Jamie Bamber, for you Battlestar Galactica fans.. nice cameo. Lots of recognizable faces and voices in this.. pretty cool.

A fine line between protecting copyright and censoring free speech. Some abuse is bound to happen, some people will always get burned. It's sad. Hopefully Google sees sense and some of these cases of abuse are undone.

I agree that 3s is more than long enough to prevent accidental rebuys. I've found the cooldown occasionally prevents me from deliberately healing in fast succession as SI, but this is the only time it's been a problem for me.
