Jangurt, I did not mock your words I used the exact arrogant, abrasive, condescending, words you did towards me. I believe that you should always treat others the way you want to be treated and I was far more polite to you than you have been to me and the community. I was banned from the server my first time in for the exact same thing you did. I did not insult the admin, I did not insult the members or the community or show my disdain for the server rules, and I did not even go to the forums. I politely asked that admin why did I get banned, he sent me the same link I sent you in my post regarding the rushing. I sincerely apologized to the admin stating, I was simply ignorant of the rule and have been playing happily ever since, it was my fault I didn't play by the guidelines not the admins. To be specific you were in the saferoom, while most of your team was back by the junk car where the swamp meets the road, that's way way rushing. Lastly you do not know me, the members, or the community so please do not arrogantly pre-suppose you do by further insulting me, other admins, or members. Most of us have been playing here for years and we do welcome and want new players in the hopes that they become members. Your ban was only an hour and you claim your time is precious, yet you have spent 3X as much time in here hating on our rules for play, insulting myself and others instead of in the server having a good time and maybe making some new friends.

How about changing the slay command to kill so I don't kill both team mid map again. I am due for a repeat.

I put a spray at the beginning of every map stating some helpful hints like our buy menu etc. This spray also lists some things that will get you banned the first thing on the list in case you do not read our sever rules is NO RUSHING in big bold red letters just like it is here. Your team told you to stop rushing and I told you stop and you did not. So you were warned by your team and myself and would not respond in voice or text. You were WAY WAY ahead of your team in the saferoom no less. Your team was plenty alive and kicking and in fact finished the round despite the rushing. Rushing is allowed if your team is dead you have 3 tanks on you AND have the blessing of your team mates. Short of that please don't do it. I would also like to add that players who have been banned be less judgmental, because their poor judgement penalizes whatever free time I had to play, instead of playing and enjoying the game with everyone else I am banning people that do not follow server rules or respond in forum posts regarding their ignorance of our server policies, even though they were made clear at the beginning of every round and you were warned by players and myself not to rush and to come out of the saferoom and help your team - embarrassing conduct. Rushing and many other rules on our sever are not inconsequential. It is because of these rules that we have one of the most popular severs and communities. Your ban has long expired. Please read the server rules and enjoy playing in our severs.

Just a suggestion. How about making it so that only withes purchased after dangerous witches is enabled become dangerous and those purchased before are not dangerous. This would eliminate a lot of the problem with announcing "buy witches now and then I will buy up the dangerous option". It personally doesn't bother me, but if its a big issue for enough people I guess we should "fix" it, get rid of it, or just leave it alone. A team will announce when they are buying a tank, upping a spitter limit, buy-up unannounced tank, buy witches on respawn cause they are gonna defib, spit on my charge, chain charge a smoked person back to the saferoom. These are verbally stated strategies that maximize points for the infected teams and I consider the dangerous witch announcement just another one, but to tell a team they can't talk about a strategy among themselves is a little unfair. Just to be clear and not appear self serving. I rarely buy witches of any kind myself.

Ok wait a minute so if 19 people want to skip, but one doesn't we don't put up a vote? What is the sense of having a vote system at all then. The purpose of the vote is to get a majority consensus on what we should do with the map etc. If one person (and there is always at least one) does or doesn't want to do X then there is no sense in having a voting system at all. The voting system also provides a log so that if "questions" arise in the forums you have proof that this was discussed, voted, and passed. I am all for having guidelines, but the way this is written may be a touch too confining. Many of us have played these maps hundreds of times, if the finale comes up and 90% of the people want to move on, because of points gap etc. Lets do it and move on especially when you get the scores that are 2000 points apart. I think by not moving on, when a vast majority of the people wish to, you run the risk of clearing out the server. In my view the vote system is a way to settle those decisions when you are getting mixed reactions on weather to do this or that. The very purpose of a vote system is to settle something by a majority when there is indecision. Maybe by making a majority vote having to a higher number, might make more sense say 60% or something like that, would be more appropriate. I can't speak for other admins, but I usually wait for several people to call skip, before I even put up a vote. I will say that Murderin's idea of a majority on both teams would be a good idea also, but I don't know how feasible either of these options are? A more important question may be....how often is this even an issue?

Well first of all Vlad sorry to see you go, hope you change your mind. Played with you many times and enjoyed your company on the server. I also understand what you are saying and everyone here has made good points. I know we had the votekick option on and off and the pendulum tends to swing both ways. When we have votekick option, it gets abused sometimes and that causes one kind of problem, when it's removed it causes another. Another contributing factor is that L4D goes on sale and we get an influx of new players and some of those players are A-holes, but that comes with the territory. I wonder if there is a way to turn votekick on for members only, if there is no admin present on the server and disable it when there is. That might be a compromise that could work? Just an idea.

I understand what turbo is saying, it does get ridiculous sometimes. I also completely agree with Jerkoff's post, he made an excellent counter argument. I am not so good at hunter class so I am not biased towards it, but I am unsure of a fair way to balance that class or if it should be touched at all. Good discussion though.

Since we are all piling on........................ If this is already fixed I apologize in advance. The witches have been attacking people that don't startle them. One person startles them and they "down" a different player. They aren't walking through fire or anything just plain going after the wrong person.

Ok Ash, looks like you get another shot, thanks for your apology. Please understand that if you are disrespectful to other players or admins again the permanent ban will be put back into place. Please read the rules of the server or just ask if you have a question about them. All members and admins are more than happy to explain, if there is something you are unsure of.

Well Ash, I was the admin on the other team and I could hear and see everything being said and typed. I and several members noticed you kept team switching on every map. Maestro was the admin on your team the last time you switched and asked very politely to switch back several times and not to repeatedly stack the teams. If an admin chooses to move certain people around or do a team scramble to balance out the teams a bit that is the admin's perogative, as an admin, not yours. You repeatedly insulted Maestro in chat and disrupted the entire game for everyone over several minutes on this issue, when all you had to do was say, oops no problem and stay on your original team. I banned you with Maestro's blessing, because A. I couldn't believe you were being so disrespectful to an admin or any other player for that matter who was actually being really nice about asking to stay within the rules of the server and B. You were just banned the previous day for the exact same thing. It is your responsibility to know the rules of the server if you want to play there and since you were banned the previous day, I would've thought you would've asked why and maybe checked on some of the rules of the server. I think what happens in these types of situations is that you get a mix of seasoned players and people who bought the game 15 minutes ago. There are strategies that work in this particular server that don't work in the standard 4v4 servers. When I see we have new players I try to talk them through the map IE. "what we want to do here is....." and it probably drives the members nuts when I do, because they already know. I notice that a lot of these new players don't have a mic and don't chat, or maybe they speak a different language. Sometimes this adds up to terrible teamwork and in a close game this can be extremely frustrating. It's not their fault, they are just inexperienced in this server. I mean the close games are the best games in my opinion, so it can be maddening when you have one team full of seasoned members and another team w/ 7 seasoned members and 3 people who don't communicate and you lose the game probably for that reason. What we have to try to remember (especially myself) is that we were all new here at one time and try to be patient with new players. I know sometimes I want to pull my hair out, and sometimes it's time for me just to take a break from gameplay, but we should just try to help the new players along to become seasoned members.

Hey Looney I use the Logitech G330. It fits around the back of your head, intead of over the top. I don't get that ear ache anymore and it still allows me to hear a little of whats going on in the room, phone rings etc. It uses a usb or standard inputs for mic and speakers and if I want a speaker/ mic combo instead of headphone/mic combo I just wrap them around my neck and adjust the mic near my mouth.
