  1. I'm pretty certain that he had some sort of downloaded skill, but I wasn't entirely certain what it was. Definately no-smoke (I was a third victim; made no location giveaways prior to dying either), and his aim was iffy, but he wasn't playing with a crap-on-your-fun attitude either. He was just more of a challenge to kill. I do know that this guy was being a real loser. Purposefully teamkilling the whole while. I don't know if this screenshot (taken just before he left) is enough for action, but I somehow doubt he's got this server in his favourites anyways. EDIT: I guess I should've put the second half of this post in this thread. wups
  2. My load times are usually reasonable after the first map is done, but I've often got booted to another server when changing over to italy. In fact, italy just runs really poorly on my pc a lot of the time (or it runs just fine - it seems to have some relation to the load time too). I'll just blame Valve. ...and I'm really not a huge fan of the whole redirection thing anyhow. Though I suppose if I were to say any more...
  3. I love how they oversize the flashbang icon just to make sure that nobody misses the humiliation As for artistic screenshots, I'd have to say I've always liked this one I took It's getting hard for me to find specific screenshots already... only 46 more to go for 4000 screenshots!
  4. Configure Windows XP Pro to be a VPN server Not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure that's what would need to be done. And as a little footnote: MS Terminal Services/Remote Desktop (comes with XP Pro) is way cooler than VNC is, especially if you install the SP2beta patch that enables concurrent sessions. You can be using your computer remotely in one account, and have the console session still available at your home computer if someone were to walk up to it. And other cool stuff like clipboard sharing, resolution scaling, file transfer, audio redirection... it's just better.
  5. I don't know if it still stands true, but on the UT servers, GC people always used the "-=GC=-" tag. In any case, it's certainly obvious what the idea is when one wears a GC tag around here, no matter what the surrounding decorations.
  6. These miliatary-style ranks are nifty, but dang, now I have to come up with a new avatar!
  7. ...and I don't seem to be with stupid anymore
  8. It's pretty good, but all these smileys are all antialiased to the wrong colour: if only we could use png's already...
  9. I think tip 23 is going to toss a grenade into tip 16
  10. Things I learned in OSS IV: *Polygons can spontaneously combust too. *Charging Cujo with a P90 is a bad idea, in all situations. *Those responsible for killing team members will be sackedslapped. *Counter-Terrorists would not do well as a cheerleading squad. *The winning lottery numbers are 0:1:40941... *The last player on a team to die has zombie powers. Inject more bullets. *When given idle time, playing catch with a gun is lots of fun. Playing catch with a grenade is fun for the whole team! *My hitbox is larger than yours. *People are always dying to see the halftime show. and perhaps most importantly... *Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork!
  11. I use Thunderbird for my personal account, but the rest of the family uses Outlook Express (which has been getting increasingly slow as the pile of messages dating back to 2000 keeps increasing (no, not spam)). It's a very nice little program; simple like OE, but without any of the interface stupidity. The contacts sidebar in the message composition window is the greatest idea ever. I think the only thing I'd like to add is the ability to directly insert HTML, but I don't think they'd ever add that.
  12. Wow, I'm hoping to get that next month. I got a huge textbook for it, but the CD it came with that has all the example questions seems a lot more useful. Yay for resume decorations!
  13. Photoshop + inspiration = my new spray: edit: bad forum code. wups
  14. It all makes so much sense now...
  15. That show was incredible! I'd say more, but I'd wind up giving the whole thing away
  16. Aww, I must've missed that round. Seems like I keep landing on cs_italy whenever I find some time for CS. But if it were to replace de_dust for the week.... yes. That would be good. For those who haven't yet memorized the map rotation, dust comes immediately after italy :-D
  17. Yeah, I was afraid of that. So long as these problems persist, you can always expect demos from me in the future (and I would've had one here too if there was one more round). Say, is there any way to bind a key to generate demos named with sequential numbers in the filenames (like screenshots have de_aztec0001, de_aztec0002, etc)? It would be really handy, and I know I have a few more F-keys to spare.
  18. Would you miss EAX very much? If not, then the kX Drivers are a thousand times better than Creative's sloppy code. Just be sure to use Driver Cleaner first, and don't fear the DSP window once everything's installed. The SBLive & Audigy are awesome cards, but you've really seen nothing until you've used that DSP control.
  19. It's happened to me too - not all the time - but it has happened a couple times. Kind of annoying, because I'm always checking how damage was caused by the most recent bullet my skull absorbed.
