Asphyxiator May 16, 2004 Share Asphyxiator Member May 16, 2004 $1.89 Des Moines, Iowa. Supposedly the prices are supposed to rise until mid july, at which point they will lower just in time for the elections.

[Mmmm]Homer May 16, 2004 Author Share [Mmmm]Homer Member May 16, 2004 It's reported in Bob Woodwards new book "Plan of Attack" (written with Bush's blessing) that the Bush administration has a deal, or an understanding, that tha Saudis will help jack up prices until a month or so beforethe election to help Bush out. Read about it. Listen to Bob Woodward Woodward's new book Plan of Attack is a behind-the-scenes look at how and why the Bush administration decided to wage war in Iraq. Woodward interviewed more than 70 government officials for the book, including President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell. Woodward is the author of a number of best-selling books, including Bush at War and his first, All the President's Men, written in 1974 with Carl Bernstein about Watergate. Raiden May 18, 2004 Share Raiden Member May 18, 2004 I got this from an e-mail on base and well this is what a lot of people are trying lol >It has been calculated that if everyone in the United Staes did not purchase a drop of gasoline for one day and all at the same time, the oil companies would choke on their stockpiles. > >At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss of over 4.6 billion dollars which affects the bottom lines of the oil companies. > >Therefore, May 19 has been formally declared "Don't buy gas day" and the people of this nation should not buy a single drop of gas that day. > >The only way this can be done is if you forward this email to as many people as you can and quickly, to get the word out. > >Waiting for the government to do this won't work. What happened to the reduction and control in prices that the Arab nations promised two weeks ago? > >Remember one thing, not only is the price of gasoline going up, but at the same time, airlines are forced to raise their prices, trucking companies are forced to raise their prices which affects prices on everything that is shipped. Things like food, clothing, building materials, medical supllies, etc. And we are the ones who pay in the end! > >We can make a difference. If they don't get the message after one day, we will do it again and again. > >So do your part and spread the word. Forward this email to everyone you know. Mark your calendars and make May 19th a day that the citizes of the U.S. say "Enough is enough." > >

dwEEziL May 20, 2004 Share dwEEziL Member May 20, 2004 <craggity old voice> Back in my day, we didn't have these new fangled automobiles. We had horse drawn carriages and we liked it...we liked it fine. If you were getting low on fuel, ya' shoved some grass into it. We didn't have no GPEC, No Saddam Hussy hoarding all the grass. No Alaskan Grass Pipeline (What the heck is Alaska anyway. We only ave 32 States). Our "vehicle emissions" didn't rip a whole in the sky, just sullied our shoes if we didn't watch where we stepped (if you were one of the lucky few who had shoes). Bah, kids today and their "toys". </craggity old voice>
