wayfarer August 15, 2006 Share wayfarer Member August 15, 2006 You felt my G7 at FF06 you know what its like. If I had known you were thinking of switching we coulda loaded it up on your comp so you could get a better feel. I went from a $20 optical to a G7, so obviously I really noticed a difference. Magruter August 15, 2006 Share Magruter Member August 15, 2006 DEWD G7, occationally you can find a good deal on em on amazon. Very sweet mouse! Comes with 2 batteries, nice quick change out when one dies. I picked mine up for $35 and i've seen them as low as $12. I'll keep my eye open. Previous mouse was a VERY beat up mx700, huge difference.
Kruten August 15, 2006 Share Kruten Member August 15, 2006 G7 fosho. It got the interchangable batteries, buttons on it to change the dpi, and a little lights that shows the battery status and dpi setting.
Unclean August 15, 2006 Share Unclean Member August 15, 2006 The MX1000 has a battery meter, adjustable DPI setting, and a rechargeable dock. I usually recharge my MX1000 once every 3 days of heavy gaming (8-10 hours/day) or once a week with normal usage. The G7 has adjustable weights though, right? That's one of the only advantages I see to switching mice, shep.

anonymo August 16, 2006 Share anonymo Member August 16, 2006 My only problem with the G7 is that going from an MX510 I miss the second side button...why did they only put one button there!?!?! I need to go forward!!!!
wayfarer August 16, 2006 Share wayfarer Member August 16, 2006 mx1000 = 1000 dpiG7 = 2000 dpi A difference of 1000 dpi, I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
Magruter August 16, 2006 Share Magruter Member August 16, 2006 Yeah it's not a 5 button mouse, i only has one button on the left side. As far as the batteries they don't last as long, maybe 2 days. But it is lighter than 2 AA's, heck of weight difference between the mx700 and G7. And yes the DPI change on the fly is pretty cool. Was playing around with it yesterday. shadow August 16, 2006 Share shadow Member August 16, 2006 (edited) I went with the Razer Copperhead. 2000dpi, 32kb onboard memory, 1000hz ultrapolling 1ms response time. 70$ at best buy. http://www.razerzone.com/ Next step is the new Razer head phones and audio card. I could'nt be more satisfied with the copperhead. Excellent gaming mouse. Edited August 16, 2006 by shadow

Tek-Almighty August 17, 2006 Share Tek-Almighty Member August 17, 2006 I have mx1000 and resolution is 1/2 that of G7... I think ergonomics are same and weight is about the same... both have rechargeable...both are wireless... Only differences I can point on would be DPI (2000 on G7) and the fact that the mx1000 has "foreward" internet button... meh...
Unclean August 17, 2006 Share Unclean Member August 17, 2006 Isn't there a point where DPI doesn't matter anymore, like megapixels on a camera? Or is there something I'm missing here?
wayfarer August 17, 2006 Share wayfarer Member August 17, 2006 First of all, the MX1000 is MUCH heavier than the G7. Hands down. Secondly, try playing CSS with a mouse that has 1/2 the dpi. The mouse makes all the difference in the world. It's not going to do anything for you if you panic and not pull the trigger in a firefight. But killing someone with a single AK burst from the other side of the map never gets old.
