dragonfly October 16, 2006 Share dragonfly Member October 16, 2006 Is it that your bios sees only one? Is it the same under device manager (ie, i see 2 processors there). That's my best guess. Some people here dont have to guess though...
Laz.e.rus October 16, 2006 Share Laz.e.rus Member October 16, 2006 go into task manager. Click View, CPU history, one graph PER cpu. You prolly have it set to combine and report as one
Cujo October 16, 2006 Share Cujo Member October 16, 2006 or your bios may not be up to date and is recognizing the cpu incorrectly.

Tek-Almighty October 19, 2006 Share Tek-Almighty Member October 19, 2006 What mobo do you have?... Most likely they have an automated bios update utility on their website. It will run in windows and download the latest BIOS, then install it. Asus and Abit both have had that type of utility for the past 2 years. Flash BIOS and do windows update...after that, if you still have probs, download the latest AMD dual core hotfix from their website.
NOFX October 19, 2006 Share NOFX Member October 19, 2006 you have more than likely been running with only one core the whole time. For a few reasons... a. Your motherboard doesn't support dual core or b. Your bios is old and to enable it you need to flash the bios See Cujos post about going to manufacturers website and downloading latest bios. Burn the files to a CD and make the cd bootable. takes all of 3 minutes to do.
