Unclean November 15, 2007 Share Unclean Member November 15, 2007 How long is that chip gonna last at those speeds? 2 weeks?

A 100% increase is still just a multiplication by 1. They should have said either an increase of 200% or an increase of an additional 100%

NOFX November 15, 2007 Share NOFX Member November 15, 2007 a 100% increase would be double its current performance. It made sense to me.
Unclean November 15, 2007 Share Unclean Member November 15, 2007 "A 100% increase" makes sense to me... say something has a "30% increase". That's 130%, right? So why wouldn't a "100% increase" be 200%?
bushwack November 15, 2007 Share bushwack Member November 15, 2007 (edited) Very impressive if it was done without the use of thermo-electric devices. What is "Caskad'chill"? Edited November 15, 2007 by bushwack
Allanon November 16, 2007 Share Allanon Member November 16, 2007 Very impressive if it was done without the use of thermo-electric devices. What is "Caskad'chill"? Dunno he's from Paris though... probably cooled it with Wine
dragonfly November 16, 2007 Share dragonfly Member November 16, 2007 I think it's like a freezer - puts the chip in negative territory (below 32 for you noobs).
Clueless November 16, 2007 Share Clueless GC Alumni November 16, 2007 Would'nt it mathmatically be 46%? 2600 divided by .54 = 4818
dragonfly November 16, 2007 Share dragonfly Member November 16, 2007 (edited) 2400xA=4818 A=2.0075 200%, or 100% increase... you would divide 4818, not the 2400 I think you got the inverse of the correct answer (close anyway) Edited November 16, 2007 by DarkArchon
[LaW]Maverick November 17, 2007 Author Share [LaW]Maverick Member November 17, 2007 I thought 'bout doing that...just buying a mini-fridge and modifying it and popping my PC in there....why not? It could work--long as you had some good moisture seals...
Xoul November 18, 2007 Share Xoul Member November 18, 2007 (edited) You know... I've oced alot of my machines... and I can tell you right now you can EXTREMELY OC any PC and run zCPU and get an insane mark. I want to see actual 3dmarks on it. There arn't any probably because when he tries to play video games/benchmarks the system locks up or reboots. Sure, at idle it'll be 4.8ghz stable... but what at 100% cpu usage? The only way that it would even be stable would be to have some insanely expensive cooling device. Edited November 18, 2007 by Xoul
dragonfly November 18, 2007 Share dragonfly Member November 18, 2007 There's a screen shot of running superpi in there.
