I found down town to be kinda dirty with a lot of bums and crack heads. The arch is pretty cool and there is a bar district close to down town (forget the name). If you like Italian food you MUST go to The Hill in St. Louis. Specifically Favazza's. You also can't leave St. Louis without trying Ted Drewe's frozen custard. Forest Park is bigger than Central Park and has a TON of things to do...though it is probably better on a weekend than during a week night. I'd expect, though, that St. Louis would be a good place to try some St. Louis Style BBQ. I've had bbq porksteak my entire life. Heck, I remember manning the grill for a school bbq when I was 14 years old and having 20+ porksteaks going out every 10 minutes or so. If you're in St. Louis you must try Toasted Ravioli, Ted Drewe's, Porksteak, Imo's AND Cecil Whittaker's St. Louis Style Pizza's. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Zoo, the History Museum, The Art Museum, The Jewel Box, Art Hill, The Worlds Fair Pavilion, etc. Except that this time of year during weeknights, everything closes around 5pm...so...get off work early. I recently went to the History Museum and saw some of the images from the Worlds Fair in 1901 that was held here...and the buildings that they built were ASTOUNDING. It seriously looked like ancient Rome in its heyday. Sadly, nearly every single one of those buildings was torn down because the city couldn't afford to keep so much land unused. Preacher October 22, 2008 Share Preacher Member October 22, 2008 (edited) IMO's is better St. Louis Style pizza and go to Blueberry Hill if you want a nice 50's atmosphere with some good live music. And Bruno's Little Italy is a much better restaurant on the hill. You may want to wear a suit though. It's the mob restaurant in St. Louis so make sure you tip according to service and behave yourself Forest Park is excellent for a day trip.
