must be nice to have the money for all that stuff ^ ^^^ ^ but seriously how much does a good body kit for the sunfire cost:??? how much did you pay total for all the modifications on yours (Ioh and bye the way mine is silver for now) im looking at gettig 2 type R 10 in. woofers and build thoe in to the trunk along with my MTX 15" with a new amp to boot. then i will just build it up piece bye piece to a true pimp mobile. but that could take a while with my limited funds at the moment :)

Homer,Feb 23 2004, 09:15 PM] Is it just me being West Coast or do you guys around the lakes all drive chick cars?

Hehehe, my sister in law drove a sunfire

But it looks cool nonetheless man.

It must be a Detroit-centric mindset there. Out here any entry or mid level GM product is pretty much a chick car. You either buy foreign, a Saturn, or an SUV it seems in the Northwest. I don't like Saturns, don't need a SUV (though that reasoning stops nearly no one here as they take up 2 parking spots), so I bought a Canadian built Honda. (Well, 108k miles and nothing but routine service.)

The Lincoln LS was taking Detroit in the right direction, imho, not sure what is happening lately there. Did it fizzle? And I don't just mean on the "luxury" models. I was hoping some design sense would start casuing me to consider buying American. Well, I guess there is the Ford Focus, not my taste personally, but a worthy effort.

If I was buying today I would consider:

Scion (j/k)

VW Jetta wagon 1.8T

Subaru WRX

Mini Cooper S

I'm with Homer, American car styling sux0rz. I don't like the stuff coming across the pacific either though. My tastes fancy the stuff with class. Porche, Mercedes, BMW. The Lincoln LS was a great offering though. I was liking the last line of Oldmobiles too. I drive a '94 Pontiac Sunbird right now, though I just put it up for sale. It was my first car, and it's done well. I don't think I'd buy Pontiac again though. And Homer, I'm putting that line in my sig. I'm in the midwest and I know exactly what you mean. Sunfires, cavaliers, grand ams, focus, escort, etc. Chick cars. After selling my Sunbird (mine's made of metal, btw, not that plastic crap) I plan to buy a smaller SUV. Unlike most people though, I actually have a reason. I'm a drummer and my band's been doing more shows, requiring me to move my kit around more. I need something that's easy to load and unload. Looking at probably a Jeep or Blazer. Maybe one of those older Nissans.
