Well the same amount of packets are still going to be transmitted it is just a matter of how quickly your computer can perform the calculations of the physics. Hehehe...Make ABSOLUTELY sure you use standoffs and only the EXACT amount that your motherboard has holes. This is the mistake I see the most at work with new computer builders.

Do you know of a board that has NForce4 with AGP and 939? I could not find any so that is why I am looking at the gigbyte MB w/ agp only. I had been looking at the ASRock MB with dual agp and pci-e but after ready about so many issues and the ULi chipset I looked somewhere else. So what you think? I do not know of a board off the top of my head but I will find you one. brb.

The problem with this whole PHYSX thing is that they have no good supported games. I mean honestly, NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY BET ON SOLDIER!

Pickup one of those laptop coolers from your local computer store and see if that, along with the compressed air, fixes the issue.

Does DVI really make that much of a difference? I still use analog because that DVI cable is like $200 in stores. Ouch - don't go to brick and mortar for the cable if you don't have one - $20 plus shipping just about anywhere else online -Fk Wow. Do you have a site where you can get one for $20? Depending on the exact specs you want NForce4 might be the way to go DNA. You mentioned something in another thread about AGP and SLI and I don't think there is a board like that out right now with nf4 but I have been wrong before. In terms of the via comment the only thing I see them dominating anymore is ITX. The Epia and those types of setups really cannot be beat and via is the go-to company for things of that type.

My last post is talking about churros and nothing related to TWC so I thought I would write another post relating to well....tWc. The PC-Cillin antivirus I got came with a firewall so I just use that to monitor stuff and have never had a problem with it. NOFX is right about the functionality of software and hardware firewalls though. The worst hardware firewall is still going to be better then the best software firewall just because of the way they are designed. Also, the windows firewall built into sp2 only blocks like 3 ports so it isn't really protecting you if you think that is the case.

I like the K-lite Codec Pack that Wolfsblood posted, it is what I use personally. Avengence posted the Communist pack which I did not like but know people that swear by it. K-Lite includes ffdshow so you will not need to worry about that. In terms of media playing applications you want VLC Media Player. This program will single handedly play every single media type available, it is THE one stop shop.

I never personally owned one of these boards but I have heard about the issues you are worried about. Seemed to me like the issue was only with the 9800 Pros in that board. I am generally not a fan of ULI chipsets but their Southbridge operations are not that horrible. I have a feeling that nvidia bought them to steal their engineers for nforce stuff but who could really say for sure. In the end if it is something you are wary about, pick up a different board.

I own one of the ones from ThinkGeek and it is amazing. I bought it on TG like a year and a half ago and the laser just went out on it last week. I contacted the company directly and informed me that I had two options. They would issue me a full refund for my purchase price no questions asked, or they would send me their current model that was closest to equivalent to the one I had. I opted for the new one and ended up getting one that was like twice as bright. I work in a retail environment and that was the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

That monitor will probably look like crap given that it is made by Microsoft. There doesn't appear to be any real reviews available on it but I would beware at that price. Probably likely to have dead pixels or some "deflated" actual response time number. I have a Samsung Syncmaster 930B monitor and I love this thing to death. Dell has great monitors too. Though you could be posting this cause it is just super cheap. I am sure the almighty Preach has a better monitor then this!

Yeah. Its not even a "crowd" anymore. You need to reformat and reinstall windows and get back to the panel with an update!

Does the video artifact at all? Are there pixels of the display that are not showing the proper image? Like a color on the opposite end of the spectrum for instance, or is it only getting really bright? Artifacting can be a heat issue so upgrading the cooling is never a bad idea. But you definitely have to start with uninstalling and reinstalling bf2. Look on their forums too to see if other people are having the same issue because you might need a specific driver and not just the newest one. Next to Civilization IV, BF2 is quite possibly one of the buggiest games ever. In reference to your sound issue, creative drivers suck. But, if you are having video AND audio problems there is always a chance your windows is corrupted and reinstalling that could help too.
