  1. Let me add that this one is better for a little more money. More video memory and better i7 CPU for only 800. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215615 This one is running a similar performance ATI video but with i5 processor. $100 cheaper though. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131394 Those are just a few anyway. Hope it helps you save some money.
  2. Spend 2k if you want a new high-end Apple Macbook Pro. I used this site when I bought my laptop in the summer of 2011. It gives you an idea where the video card of the laptop you are considering places among the hundreds of options out there. There are so many. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Comparison-of-Laptop-Graphics-Cards.130.0.html My laptop videocard is a low end class 2 and it handles League of Legends and others just fine. For example, I found this laptop which seems to be pretty good gaming laptop. http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-771G-6851-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B009JXK17G/ref=sr_1_1?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1354678767&sr=1-1#productDetails This is the detailed information on the video card. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-645M.81417.0.html I am looking at i5 based laptops for price while the i7s tend to be more than double the price. That site is great though for finding a laptop with good gaming capabilities without breaking the bank.
  3. Donate to the Goodwill. Someone will buy it and keeps others employed.
  4. First rule of asking for an unban: Do not insult the guy standing at the switch that turns on the electric chair.
  5. I am running the AMD 1090T 6-core with 8GB of RAM and an Asus Crosshair IV Formula and there isn't a game I cannot max out and play with this setup. I honestly think you are buying more PC than most games can use when you go higher end Intel and you are paying a premium for it. I am running an nvidia 670 GPU as well. Let me just say this. You are not going to see a difference between 180fps and 200 fps on a game and hundreds of dollars extra isn't worth it IMO. Others may disagree of course.
  6. While we are in remembrance mode. Let me toss out this gem.
  7. I am considering upgrading to the latest AMD FX processor and mobo. The rest of my gear I am keeping. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in my current stuff if I were to do so. This is the mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula. http://www.amazon.co...a/dp/B003G40Z66 The processor is the AMD Phenom II 1090T Black Edition http://www.amazon.co...X/dp/B003FVI2KQ I will need some kind of yes or no today or I will probably wait until next year tax time to do my upgrade. I am in no hurry because the 6 cores and all work great and play every game I throw at it now without a hiccup.
  8. I just wont ever again get stuck in a contract phone while using Android. The mobile providers such as Verizon and AT&T take a long time to push out the updates and they tend to get modified with some features removed. Android has had built-in tethering by default for a long time but the vendors have stripped it out for most phones. You need a custom ROM or go the straight-up Nexus unlocked method.
  9. Not very good advice. For one, it is wrong to steal the software regardless whether you agree with the company's policies or not. Another, you are inviting the opportunity to be infected with malware of some kind which are often bundled with pirated games and software. Don't do it!
  10. I will bring it up again when the game goes standalone.
  11. The new Nexus 4. Unlocked. You can use it on any GSM based carrier you want. No contract.
  12. This is World War Z in name only. Looks cool but basically prevents another studio or producer from actually doing it right..
  13. I have it and am downloading it now. Loved the original HL mod from way back when. May not have time to give it a go for a few days.
  14. It should be based on the Timothy Zahn books but I doubt it will be. The series based on Grand Admiral Thrawn (books) were amazing but took place a year or two after Episode 6. Well.... Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are much older now. Not sure how they will work it out.
  15. So is anyone using or getting Windows 8? I can grab a copy through work to test and may give it a try on my home pc. I am curious about gaming performance, etc. Anyone?
  16. Just throwing this out there for future reference. http://lifehacker.com/5949489/
  17. There are always improvements but I do not think things have changed so much in a year and a half that the quality of the 7.1 has improved beyond that of a good set of audiophile studio headphones. The 5.1 and more so with the 7.1 headsets is that they have to cram a great number of mini speakers in the earpieces which in turn have to give the impression of surround sound with that limited space. The quality of the speakers suffers a great deal and rarely if ever did I get the sense of surround sound with my surround sound headsets when I had them. I've owned 3 sets previous to now. The companies in turn charge a high premium for the 7.1 surround sound and can market around that while providing average audio at best. I am sure there may be some amazing sounding surround sound headsets out there but none of them will ever match up to the sound quality of the average audiophile studio headphones. The switch from 5.1 top of the line Turtlebeach to a mid level Sennheiser was like night and day. Most games also output directional audio in the software and it sounds a lot better to me than the surround sound headsets ever did. BUT to each their own and you may find that the 7.1 is what you want and it sounds great to you. I was listening a bit to some Dubstep when I made the switch and I nearly crapped myself with how great it sounded on my new headphones.
  18. I posted a couple of years ago about this. I've come to the conclusion that the sound quality of the surround sound headsets is crap. You really do not get the surround sound in the headsets and they tend to be gimicy with poor audio output. You are better off grabbing a high quality set of headphones such as some studio quality type and you will never want to go back to 7.1 headphones again. Trust me on that. I did this when Modern Warfare 2 was still the game to play and I could hear everything, even things you were not supposed to hear.
  19. SixLauncher isn't always up to date with the latest versions I noticed. I switched to DayZ Commander and my compatibility problems went away.
  20. Sigh..... Should I give this game consideration? I haven't touched WoW in years and would like to do an MMO but not sure which one. I hate the changes to WoW and I hate the grinding.
  21. I love the books. Reading the second one now.
