Teams uneven in numbers is really the only thing that annoys me enough to say anything about it, but since theres no way of preventing people from switching, it usually ends up that the lead team at the beginning of the Campaign gets screwed because more like to play Infected first. I guess the only thing to do is roll with it and wait for new joiners, forcibly switching players generally ends up causing just as much complaining as leaving it alone. Admins and members arent immune to the scramble, but admins do have the power to put anyone on whatever team. This is the greatest problem in L4D in general, the attitude of "if Im losing, Ill just quit", leaving that team down players, and when new ones join, they see the disparate scores and quit too. Most games outcomes are determined by the end of the second map because of this, but a good thing here is that some of the regular players on the server will switch over if there seems to be too many experienced players on one side. People get so mad at this game...

Whoa! Hold on here. Chick, Ive played with you, what, twice? And one of those times happened to be when I was making another sadly failed attempt at quitting smoking. Besides, everyone complains constantly in this game, its just the way it is. I dont know if I remember a game where everyone was completely satisfied at what happened. L4D2 is a game of screwing people over and getting screwed over, and people get so mad at this game. Maybe try talking to me a bit before labeling me?? I think everyone knows my feelings on the !sp thing, or any other mod. I cant say its without its uses, but I like to focus more on killing than messing with sending points. Thats just the kind of player I am, but Im a big believer in "to each their own", and I know that theres never a way to please everyone, all the time. If the !sp mod goes Ill be pretty happy, but if it doesnt it really isnt going to change how I play the game. As long as there isnt invisible hunters or anything like that Im good. But Ive seen a few technical issues with the !sp, reminds me a bit of what went on back when with the crazy complex !buy menu, some of it was fun, but sometimes it caused... complications. Anyway, love you all. Ill try and not complain, but really Im good with most of anything that happens except when the teams are uneven in numbers. That gets me right annoyed.

Anyone who knows me knows that I like the least amount of mods as possible. I was initially drawn to this server because it was running 10v10 with very little other mods. So I agree with MPG. Sending points just adds complications that distract from the primary goal of the game: killing zombies. I say get rid of it, but I know that some may have a different opinion.

I turn my computer off now when I go out or when Im sleeping, so if its 4 AM, and Im online, Im probably here and will respond to messages. I am the kind of person who will be online at 4 AM, so if theres an issue on the server, let me know.

Hi there! Im still around... any GC member can add me on Steam, and if theres ever any problems, Ill come and deal with it. Ive been on break from L4D2 recently, but that doesnt mean I dont take care of admin stuff on the server. Ill be back to killing zombies shortly. It was coming to the point the game was getting stale for me, but a few weeks off will help freshen things up.

I had to get a USB headset because my mic jack doesnt work. I got a Steelseries Siberia V2, it was $100 but well worth it.

I see him now, but I want to make sure its the right guy, there are two regulars that use that name. Kira sent me his Steam ID but it didnt copy, so Ill wait until I get it and Im going to permaban him. Hes been kicked and warned a few times in the past, so I think hes about done now if he hasnt learned to get along and be nice in our server.

I like GunGame. I heard there was a GC GunGame server at one point, but it was taken down for lack of interest. Id definitely come out for some of that action. Something Ive been looking for for a long time is GunGame where youd get a random gun every 2 kills, no order, just a randomly selected gun. There was one in Russia back in the day on 1.6, but my ping was horrible to the point of being unplayable. If someone up there could do this, even just for a limited showing, Id be sooooo happy.

Give an inch, and theyll take a mile. Its just a way to keep things civil, because for every one person that swears once and a while theres someone who will spew profanity constantly. If Im ever feeling like swearing because of something in the game, I do it off my mic.

Holy crap I dont play for ONE DAY and everything goes to hell. I reread your post three times and Im still trying to wrap my head around what went on, but whatever it was sounds petty. People get so mad at this game.

I think it was a votekick. Most people dont even pay attention to whats in that box and just press f1 to make it go away. There should be a record of that in the logs(?) but if he was being abusive on the mic theres really no way of verifying that other than corroboration from other players that were there. Ive been keeping my eye on that guy for a bit now. Hes on fairly regularly, and should know whats not acceptable on our server. And really, I dont think youll find another server that has the kind of policing and regulation as ours. I have this recorded on my watchlist, so Im sure hell do something else sooner or later and get taken care of for good.

Kira: Levels? Perks? Thats exactly what I wanted to avoid when I first started playing on this server. That stuff just overcomplicates the game. Please, for the love of god, dont implement anything like this. Really, this game isnt fair by nature. Crippling the Infected team for doing their job well? Thats ridiculous. If someone screws their team over by suiciding or refusing to move up, thats not cool, but if someone is confused or out of line, it up to their team to cover them and help them out. Its part of the game. Ill write some more in this when Im more awake and had some breakfast.

You didnt have SourceBans already?? I always use the sm_admin menu to kick people, not the !ban command, because its how Ive always done it. I dont know if this affects bans differently, on my servers I never had a problem with bans not sticking when I used the admin menu.

I saw something about wiping out a race and I was kind of scared there for a second what was going on here....

Ive talked to him a few times about watching the language, and Ive kicked him for rushing at one point. He does tend to get pretty pushy and angry when his team loses, Im thinkng his attitude changes when he knows theres admins around, and at times I think hes drunk. Ill leave this one up to Nightling or Jackie, but if I see him behaving badly again I will perma ban him, and he can come crawling if he wants to get back in. Sounds harsh, but we dont need angry, offensive people ruining the game for everyone, especially when theyve been warned repeatedly.

Well, that entirely blows my "not having people know Im admin so they carry on as normal to identify potentially problem players" thing. Oh well... Thanks Nightling. (edit) Jackie told me it was only when we as Survivor this comes up, I thought it was for every death as Infected. Phew.

Youre hilarious. Jackiechan was tweaking some of the plugins earlier, apparently there are some issues. Im sure itll be fixed shortly. If you look at the plugin changes sticky in the L4D2 server forum, it shows whats been done. Im thinking I know whats causing the conflict. Fix one thing and it breaks something else. This game isnt buggy at all.
