I enjoy this server because it allows my 12 year old son (the cable guy) to play here and I dont have to worry about language or porn sprays. I have really come to like this server. This dynamic pricing has for the first time caused me to go out and find other servers to play on. Ive never been one for the message boards, but I feel so compelled about the change that I actually registered for the boards, just to come here and post on this subject. For me, I buy armor every round. Now with the price of armor going up as it has, I can no longer afford the weapons I like to play with and am frequently stuck with a handgun. That is just one of a few different reasons I do not like this dynamic pricing. The poll shows people are in favor of getting rid of it, most of the post here are against it, I frequently hear people complaining about it ingame. Why is it still here? This has to change soon IMO, its definitely causing a lot of anguish amongst most players including myself. It is not changing weapon buying habits. stutters November 21, 2006 Author Share stutters GC Alumni November 21, 2006 ..."almost" impossible. after you bailed on aztec last night (i think it was 0-4 in ct's favor), we turned around and won 10-8. couple other things to keep in mind: 1. the dwp learning curve (for players and the economy). in the first week or so, people were buying like mad, with no consideration. look where the prices are now. people are NOT buying $7k deagles. the prices will go back down as people become aware that they are on a DWP server. 2. projections released on monday (the new economy week) aren't accurate, so stop referencing them. it asssumes the buying habit of the previous week without time to consider the current buying based on the current price. i know you guys are over it. i hope you'll be patient (out west) as this continues to get tested. but a few other things to consider: a. traffic for west was on a decline before dwp. b. traffic for gc was on a decline before dwp. c. traffic for source was on a decline before dwp. someone mentioned something last night about how dwp is causing traffic to drop. out of curiousity, i refreshed my game server list, and i couldn't find a single full server (<50ms). i doubt all those servers were running dwp, too. "get to the point, sj." things have been stale. i'm giving this an honest shot, hoping things will freshen up the crowds, the traffic, and the attitudes. this is NOT set in stone. Raw-C November 21, 2006 Share Raw-C Member November 21, 2006 This is probably my last post on the whole DWP thing. Anyway, I think DWP does make it harder for the losing team to come back. However, this is negated or at least somewhat negated by West's use of team balancing mods, so this is a moot point. I have been in favor of the prices changing to balance out some of the weapons against each other. I'm hoping that the economy settles itself out and the weapons that I enjoy using and need to practice with for matches/scrims won't always cost a ridiculous amount. Unfortunately, theres nothing to be done about this. At this point, whenever I play on west, I don't buy deagles, AK's, or m4's. I buy a usp and an AWP or maybe some random SMG. I am in no way assisting the prices of these weapons going up, yet they still rise. Ultimately, I grin and bear it for the time being and hope to all that is good in the CS world that it comes to a conclusion we can all be happy with. I'll probably repeat some things others said, because reading thru 4 pages of posts was giving me a headache. I don't mind it as much as others so far. I enjoy seeing others suffer trying to use weapons that I dont mind using! I enjoy being able to try out weapons that I don't use alot, knowing that most other ppl are in the same hitch (until a team starts really losing). I think it makes for an overall more rounded css player. It also may be giving others a chance to find out they are actually pretty decent with a weapon they haven't tried using too much. BUT I must say a couple of negative thing so far... it is pretty ridiculous when the deagle costs more than half of the other weapons out there. And it does put the losing team at an even greater disadvantage. I dare say it is a fact that no matter how skilled players are with the "cheaper" weapons.... a skilled team using m4/aks/awps/deags/armor WILL, in most instances, "roll" a more skilled team using smgs/augs/scouts/clarions/defenders/other pisols who may or may not be able to afford armor after the other purchasing. Also, it looked like there are more negative posts about it, than positive. Certainly the ones that are negative are more strongly opinioned than the any of the positive ones, to the point that ppl are threatening to not play on the servers anymore. So I'm sure the admins are taking that into consideration. From what I understand, this is still a test run on west, so i'm not going to throw up a fuss yet, regardless. So i still don't have a strong opinion either way, especially for pubbing purposes, but it IS only on my 2nd day of playing with it on so far, so perhaps more to come.
