I pushed the button labled, "Optimal Settings". It proptly put everything of very high. However, in the game I get a very iritating blur effect when I look around. I tried moving the settings down, but with no change in the blur. Anyone else get this? Other than that its great!

Either A it's part of the game or B it's an option you switch on or off called motion blur. Or C, it does it automatically when settings are high (chance of this seeing as it's a demo...)

Wow...this and UT3 are the definite indicators of a needed upgrade...soon.

I am waiting to hear news of the NVidia G92 core....

I have all settings on medium (cept water and shadows on low)...and no AA.

My usual framrates during cutscene (movie sequences) is around 12 fps...my outdoor action is usually 22-28 fps.

Sad...

Beautiful game, but I really don't have hardware to run it at my standard resolution (1680 x 1050):

Athlon dual core 4800+ oc'd to 2.6ghz

2 gb ocz platinum

Raptors

7900 GT oc'd to GTX speeds (256mb ddr3)

oh well, maybe after paying out the *** for new tires, and my national boards certification, I will have enough to by some cool crysis posters.

Same here Tek, though I had @ 1680x1050, no AA and everything on medium. Cut scenes hit around 20fps and the rest was 30ish. I also am waiting to see th g92 and g98.

E6600 @ 3.3

4gb OCZ Gold (2.73 in xp though)

7900gtx

VERY pretty, and tonnes of fun too I thought. This and CoD 4 were kick-butt.

I cant see the pics :cries:

I'm surprised you didnt get all that much better than I did bush... :shrug:

I just threw up the pics to show my fraps.

The 7900 GTX is still a fast card and my GTS is the bottom feeder of the 8800 series. The game doesn't seem to utilize 2 cores well either, so my video is prolly still hungry. I put everything on high and my HDD light sizzled, later I got a email from crytek to get more ram.

OOOOOOOOOooooooohhh. There seems to be 2 benchmark .bat files in the bin folder of the demo. I'll have to check them out tomorrow, im off to bed.

Flitter saves the day again.

Yeah, I guess I see what you mean bush. I also have 512mb not 320mb, and... well, that's about all I can think of right now. Usually the 8800gts beats the 7900gtx, and it did. Just not by as much as I thought it would. :) Still a PRETTY game on medium!

edit: they have 169.02 already

bin folder benchmarks: best of 3 runs: 1680x1050 all on medium

Athlon X2 @ 2.3 - 8800 GTS 320mb - 1 gig DDR

CPU= 21.96

GPU= 25.69

1680x1050 all on high

CPU= 10.9

GPU=7.75

Wow Leveller your system 3-4x faster then mine -ouch.

The game is screaming for 2 gigs of ram, guess it's time to throw some things up on ebay. :biglaugha:

I'm going to assume the bin folder benchmarks run with the same settings as the game so:

1680x1050 all on high

E6700 (stock) 8800 GTX + 4 GB DDR (obviously xp limits me to 3 just getting ready to get Vista before this hits store shelves)

CPU= 30.51

GPU= 32.75

edit:

1680x1050 all on medium

CPU= 51.34

GPU= 56.77

I see that it did default to what I had the game running on.

CPU - 22.47

GPU - 22.79

Something's wonkey. My cpu is at 3.3 and bush's is at 2.3... ???

All maxed @ 1920x1200

avg 7.66 :D hahahahaha

4200+ dc 2gigs ram 8800gts 320

running 1280x960 everything on medium.

Benchmarks

cpu=30

gpu=30

Ran fraps and played, 30-45fps anywhere in the game. I got 30 on the movies. averaged about 35-40 while in gun fights. Runs pretty smooth on my end.

Athlon 6000+, 8800 GTX, 4GB ram, Vista 64-bit. Running on High at 1280x720, no AA, no idea what AF settings the game uses. Even though most screens say around 20-30 FPS it's surprisingly playable at such a low FPS. Maybe with some more game optimization or driver optimization I can run it on Very High someday.

OWWW! voodoo...my bandwidth!...

You should run the built in benches....

CPU @ all setting medium and 1680 x 1050

Min 10.39

Max 26.11

AVG 20.62

GPU @ all setting medium and 1680 x 1050

Min 12.00

Max 29.78

AVG 20.88

OUCH...

That is with

Athlon 4800 (dual core) @ 2.6ghz

2 GB OCZ ddr

7900 GT OC KO (256 ddr3)

10k rpm raptors

*edit

I am surprised Bush that your CPU scores are higher than mine...I am running Athlon dual core 4800 @ 2.6...and you are almost 1 FPS faster on AVG...?

2.12 MB combined, I didn't think it was so bad. :)

Athlon 6000+ @ 3.2ghz, 8800 GTX @ 640/1500/2160 (Core, Shader, Memory), 4GB of ram, DX10 and 64-bit.

GPU all setting on Medium at 1680 x 1050

Min: 20.37

Max: 61.63

AVG: 36.94

GPU all setting on High at 1680 x 1050

Min: 10.83

Max: 29.27

AVG: 22.86

GPU all setting on Very High (Water on High) at 1680 x 1050

Min: 5.96

Max: 11.51

AVG: 10.32

For some reason I can't run Very High on the Water setting, it freezes every time. I don't know if it's something with Vista, video drivers, DX10, or the 64-bit version of the game.

I will shed a tear when this game comes out for my since-sold gaming rig. I was building it up FOR this game before I sold it, too.

I'm hoping by next spring I will have some monies saved up to build a new one, then catch crysis. I'm too afraid it would make my laptop cry to even think of buying it right now. :(
