Alright gurus.. what is the most appropriate order when performing a fresh install.. please numerically order the below items.

(this is how i've typically done it.. anything i should mix up? )

#1 - install xp

#2 - mobo drivers, network included

#3 - microsoft security pack 2

#4 - video drivers

#5 - audio drivers

#6 - dual core optimizer

#7 - re-bookmark gamerscoalition.com/forums

lol, you shouldn't have to re-bookmark. just back up your bookmarks and the paste them into your new install.

anyway, that's the order i do it except i have sp2 on my windows disc. if i didn't, i would install sp2 before mobo and network drivers.

I generally install my mobo drivers, video drivers, and audio drivers all before restarting my comp. Also I would have to add a step in their for installing random apps and getting all my themes up.

Personally, I don't run any windows updates before getting all my mobo/network/video drivers installed. Not sure if it makes a difference, but hasn't been an issue with me :shrug03:

interesting - different school of thought... i've read that audio drivers should be installed after sp2
