  1. GoW, vegas, CoD3 are all awesome games, must-buys in my opinion. (I have them all) If you like sports games, I highly recommend NHL 07. I know it's an EA game (some folks wont buy from EA), but the "skill stick" is by far one of the best additions to a sports game that I've seen in a looooooong time, and the physics system is very good as well. Even if you're not a huge hockey fan, its very fun and addicting working on scoring like the pros instead of relying on cheap one-timers for every goal There is about a 10 game learning curve to get used to the new controls, but if you can get over the hump, the gameplay is very satisfying

    This stinks.

Did anyone else need to be at work by 7am the day after Christmas?? This sucks! I want to go home and get my post-holiday rest!
  3. that "mini" plug is a 4 pin plug. I have 4-pin to 6-pin cables to connect my digital camcorder to my desktop. If you can find a 9-pin to 4-pin cable, that should be what you need. all of my 4-pin connections look the same as the one in your picture!
  4. please don't play with your wii in public forums....
  5. that was fast.... fast, yes. ghetto, absolutely.
  6. is this even possible??? I can't imagine a motherboard having two kinds of memory slots...
  7. Do you use the touchpad? I cant even get those things to go where I want them to on a web browser... let alone in a game lol, i was kidding.... I'm good with the touchpad, but not THAT good I have played source on my laptop (inspiron 6000D), graphics weren't very high, but it was very playable with a decent mouse!
  8. I still have my mint-condition N64 collecting dust with such classics as mario 64, goldeneye, and zelda: OT Poor thing hasn't been booted in quite a while
  9. yeah i hate original xbox but xbox360 is amazing! My friend told me single player on rainbow vegas 6 is amazing and multiplayer is sweet too... but the gfx was dummed down for multiplayer which made him pretty miffed. I haven't played the multiplayer yet, so I cannot speak as to the quality of graphics for it (plus all I have is a 27" 480p tv >_<), but the single player stuff is awesome. The cover control system is a little better than gears, imo mainly because you can do some rough aiming without exposing from cover, then pop out for a quick hs then hide again. so satisfying!

  12. "Do NOT put games into your wii." "Do NOT let snowmen or robots attack your wii. He'll totally freak out." LOL!

Anyone else want one in the Toronto area? could you ship one to indiana plz? k thx.
  14. I had a really good VB book that I used in college a couple years ago, but at the end of the semester I sold it back for $20 and a grilled cheese sandwich...
  15. Wasn't trying to imply anything was BETTER, but of course it is always best to check them out yourself, everyone has their preferences! happy shopping
  16. That Palm TX is not an equivalent PDA to the X51v I mentioned. The dell has a 640x480 SVGA resolution, which is significantly higher than the palm, and the processor on the palm is significantly slower than my "base" model x51 400mHz that I have. Now, if you don't need all the goodies, then I'm sure the palm is a great pda. He mentioned wanting to watch videos and do lots more stuff with it, so imho he ought to consider the dell over the palm due to power, resolution, and feature considerations. There isn't a pda with similar specs for the price of the dell. I also am wondering if the Palm OS is going to be around for a whole lot longer, as Windows Mobile seems to be growing in the market, but I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor for now. I know many people hate dell (I don't care much for them on several things myself, I say this as I type on my Inspiron 6000D), however the PDA is very good and **does not** come pre-loaded with all kinds of garbage like their PCs and laptops do. All the crap is on CDs, and you can choose what you want on there.
  17. thats a LOT of stuff you want to do with a pda... for that much functionality it might make more sense to stick with a laptop... however, I did some PDA research end of the summer for myself, and I ended going for the dell axim x51. It has a good feature set for cheaper than most other models. **Yes, I know it's a Dell** but I have absolutely no complaints with mine. If you want to do THAT much with it, I suggest looking at the top-end model Axim X51v It has built-in wireless and bluetooth capability, high-res screen (for the size), and a fast processor and integrated graphics processor. It is around $500, which is getting near the budget laptop price range, so I guess you'll have to decide if you really want to be able to do all of that with a PDA or just get a new cheap laptop
  18. xbox 360 >> xbox I didn't like original xbox that much, and I HATED that monstrosity of a controller, why was it that huge?? I LOVE my new 360 though, the controller is much smaller and comfortable and intuitive to use. I am starting to possibly like it more than my ps2 controllers... Oh yeah, GoW is an awesome game and I really like it, but I think Vegas is about right there with it. Some of the save points are a little more spread out than I would like, but it forces you to be smart about your assaults in the streets/casinos. believe me, when I finally get my 360 to an hdtv, I will be playing GoW first and foremost so I can bask in it's true beauty
  19. i finally got a couple hours to hit this game a little harder (only got to play for 15 min the day I brought it home). great game, very fun to play, and the cover and team movement and action functions are easy to control on the fly in the middle of a fire fight. I should have a good chunk of time saturday morning/afternoon as my woman is going christmas shopping I gotta try this on live at some point! haven't even played anything on live yet, including GoW
  20. I caved and picked up vegas yesterday. only had 20 min to play though cause I had to clean the dang apartment then help fix dinner with my fiance >_< only a few more hours of work, then its game time baby.... go faster clock.... I SAID FASTER!
  21. If he's looking to spend that much money, it would be very silly to NOT get a core 2 duo right now. Especially if he needs a new motherboard and the whole nine. They aren't quite as pricey as they were when first out. I love love love my E6600, but I hear the lower ones with a little less L2 cache are still very fast and overclock like champs. I think evga's gotten decent reviews on their new intel core 2 duo sli motherboards, might want to look into it.
  22. Um, mine will convert it into a universally playable DVD if so required (I know I said I have a JVC one but in all honesty I can't remember, I'll see if I can find it online, it was a Costco purchase). But at $6 per disk, I do as you suggest above and copy it to PC/then burn the DVD. edit: it's a panasonic. Mini-dv = a small dv TAPE mini-dvd = a small dvd to which your camcorder records directly there is no noticeable quality difference with the mini-dv tapes (I have an HD camcorder that uses these tapes - amazing picture quality in 1080i. the tape will only play in the camcorder, hence hook it up to something else to record to dvd
  23. mini-dv is very good on quality, but the only downside is that you would have to hook it up to a separate recording device (or computer) to have an in-hand universally playable copy. dvd burners are coming down in price though. The same goes for those that have internal hard drives, but those probably aren't in the price range that you are talking about. i would recommend getting a mini-dv camcorder, then burning the movies for them when they are done shooting
