EbilDustBunny January 23, 2007 Share EbilDustBunny GC Alumni January 23, 2007 (edited) How everyone's semester? Mines okay but leaves me little room for fun...stuck in skool from 8am - 7pm Tue and Thurs. I have a 3 hour gap after my first class... and another hour gap after my 2nd. Also the drive to campus is like a hour >_< sometimes more. Then my third class leads right to my fourth class. No-one wants to really do anything tuesday nights... -hw discovery- My lecture professor makes us write down the words in the box and makes up submit them later online in the order they appear. This is to show attendence to his lecture.... the lectures itself is online for all to view.... this includes the boxed words. >.< Edited January 23, 2007 by EbilDustBunny
stutters January 23, 2007 Share stutters GC Alumni January 23, 2007 wow. spring semester doesn't start until monday, so nothing to brag about, yet. i'm stoked for my class lineup, though. 300 level marketing (herro iPhone discussions), 300 level entrepreneurship, and a couple liberal arts classes. finally, the enjoyable part of undergrad...at 25. appalachian_fox January 23, 2007 Share appalachian_fox Member January 23, 2007 Calc at 8 am? That's...brutal. I always hated having to teach at 8 am, and I must say it is marginally worse, having been on both sides, but it's no treat having to do "heavy lifting" that early. They should make a law banning such practices.
TheGeek January 24, 2007 Share TheGeek Member January 24, 2007 I have 5 classes but I am managing the homework pretty well. I have math at 8am but its only college algebra I just got back from weight training. And then my pc troubleshooting class starts mid semester. So I'm basking in the barely any homework zone. I'm back in the gym again, I plan on rekindling my thread in the fitness thread. you should post one up?! eh?!?one!?!?¿ Homework is okay now, just reading, but the coding will gradually get harder as the semester goes on. good luck to all! btw, any coders out there that I may consult if necessary? I know Ice_Berge was a help last year. Edited January 24, 2007 by ZesteR

NOFX January 24, 2007 Share NOFX Member January 24, 2007 My University allowed 5 Withdrawals throughout your stay there. And then you were allowed to repeat 3 classes you got an F in. let's see... I dropped it once within the first week my freshman year. I failed it at Community college one summer, I used a withdrawal for it and then I fail it. My last time I was determined to pass. My three exam scores were something like a 55 and 60 something and I made an 88 on the final. Passed with a 70. I remember this because Calc is my worst enemy and is probably the reason Im not going back for a Master's.

appalachian_fox January 24, 2007 Share appalachian_fox Member January 24, 2007 It was somewhere in what mere mortals would refer to as Calc 4 or Calc 5 that I finally understood Calc 1. Too bad that couldn't save me then. Calculus makes no sense the way they teach it around Georgia, and I doubt the techniques vary over much of the U.S. at least. Assassinator January 24, 2007 Share Assassinator Member January 24, 2007 I was originally taking Communications 103, Civil Engineering 160, Math 150 and Japanese 112 at the beginning of my semester. I thought I was all set, two or three classes every day and I always got out before 1, but I had to drop Japanese 112 because it was actually the second semester! The stupid website failed to mention that and said there were no prereqs, technically, I shouldn't have been to register for the class. The first day of class the teacher came in and she just starting speaking Japanese to us, about the half the class was like "huh"? So that didn't work...i'll have to take 111 in the Fall >_< So then I tried to pick up two classes to replace that (Japanese is 6 units) but I got only one of them, Anthropology 101, so i'm just going to stick with 12 units and 4 classes.
