VooDooPC April 7, 2007 Share VooDooPC Member April 7, 2007 Allanon, try your connection going to Chicago instead of Toronto. I live in Detroit and they recommended I goto Toronto because it's closer but the lines to Chicago are faster. At the bottom left it says your ping to the place you select. My Toronto ping was over 60 but the Chicago one was 20, so the results were much better.

shaftiel April 9, 2007 Share shaftiel Member April 9, 2007 (edited) This is from my work. The upload speed seems really high. Just checked this upload speed against others at speedtest and yeah, the upload is freakin amazing. Ran the test again just to be sure, same result. This is from my home. NOFX April 12, 2007 Share NOFX Member April 12, 2007 I could spend 10 more and get a 6Mbps connection, but I dont think its worth it or I could spend 20 more and get a 15Mbps connection, which is definitely not worth it
Allanon April 12, 2007 Share Allanon Member April 12, 2007 LOL. get a real school <3 jk My school has a T1 Line I think but it's due to the stupid people going on facebook, myspace, and playing games when teacher's aren't looking that are hogging all the bandwith
NOFX April 12, 2007 Share NOFX Member April 12, 2007 (edited) LOL. get a real school <3 jk My school has a T1 Line I think but it's due to the stupid people going on facebook, myspace, and playing games when teacher's aren't looking that are hogging all the bandwith correct me if Im wrong, but that speed is just slightly slower than the theoretical 1.44Mbps a T1 has.. Its not 2000 anymore. Yuor cable running to your house can be up to 10x faster than a T1. But of course your Cable is shared amongst neighbors.. so technically if a bunch of neighbors are downloading at their caps, it can slow you down. Where as a T1 is dedicated all the way to the backbone Edited April 12, 2007 by NOFX
