Predictions on how my computer will handle it.

AMD athlon 2500 (1.83gz)

1 GB RAM

ATI 9500 PRO.

What resolution do you think I will be able to run at?

If all the settings were maxxed out, my computer would...

1) Beg for mercy and invoke the name of x86 processors

2) Grab a picket sign and start marching and chanting.

3) Flip out and march throught the circuitry wasting 'co-workers'

4) Do a mean impersonation of G. Coleman "Watchoo talkin bout, Willis?!"

5) Go 'Gone with the Wind' on me and talk frankly.

6) Start hearing voices always saying "FREEZE. THIS IS THE POLICE!"

7) Do a great impersonation of the robot dance.

8) File a complaint with PETAC (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and Computers).

9) Fall into a quivering mass muttering about 'old days' and 'sidescrollers' and 'text adventures'.

10) Hold my RAM hostage for new upgrades.

I think you would be able to play it just fine. 800 x 600 or better.

Rev, I'm planning on it playin' just fine on my pc. And this is what I have:

AMD Barton 2500+ OC'd to 3200+ (2.21 ghz)

1 GB Ram

ATI Radeon 9600XT

With no plans of upgrading anytime soon.

Your setup is nicer than mine with the overclocking. I had resisted OC'ing my rig but looks like I might bump it up for HL2.

9600XT is signigicant step up from 9500Pro? I found the minimum specs... pretty rediculous. Something like a 700megahertz CPU. Recommended was 2Ghtz or more.

9500 Pro is a better card than the 9600 XT. The 9600 XT has a faster clock and Memory but the 9500 pro has 8 pipes where the 9600 xt has only 4. Games that require Pixel performance like Doom3 and Hl2 benefit from the extra pipes.

Here's mine, will i be able to run?

2.53 Ghz p4

512 Meg

Ti4200 64 meg

I am thinking 800 x 600 should play fine for you Mag. Maybe a small Vid card upgrade will help you a lot. Your system isn't a slouch at all. I think your vid card is your bottle neck there. Maybe look for a 9800 or 9700 pro system used or something. People getting their x800's and 6800's are selling their older stuff like mad.

I have the aero 4 cooling my CPU and ONLY 5!!! :o coolermaster led case fans throughout my case. Of course that is the big reason it stays so cool, the case. It's a cooler master wave master. I highly recommend these cases for those with component performance in mind. As well as being functional they are supah sweet looking.

i have the 512 (2x 256) my question is should i just get another 512 stick and leave it at that? or do some other sort of swapping?

You can do that. Adding a 3rd stick most of the time makes your memory timings a litle higher (Worse) but the extra RAM will make up for it.

You will still get dual channel with the additional 512MB stick. If you have Nforce-2, then you have 3 slots. 2 + 1. Put the 512MB in the one slot and put the other 2 in the pair.
