Conduct of GC members outside of GC servers

getting "boosted" through a celing is an exploit and considered as distasteful as hacking. They not only did it, they did it without appology. I have banned many people back in the days of 1.6 and earlier for boosting people through the ceiling of the apt. on cs_italy and I see no reason why we would condone it here on the gc.

I think it would be in the two guys best interest to appologise and walk away. Learn that just because you aren't on a gc server that your honor isn't being watched. I wouldn't think worse of someone for doing it once "to see" but then I would ask them to stop exploiting the map.

I agree with Congregation here (wierd preacher and congregation in one accord ;) )

preacher, i think you just honestly misunderstood the situation. it wasnt a glitch or a bug or anything like the cieling bug. it was just a boost onto a box is all. i know everyone who plays cs has boosted on a regular occasion. its an honest way of assuming a defensive position.

in this situation, niether pagan or dirty were in the wrong. niether was burgerking. its his opinion and thats great he shared it with us. however, the gameplay was fair and legal. other then the boost there wasnt anything else that happened and nothing else was said.

I didn't mean to bring bad blood up among members of the Coalition. DirtyBird and I already spoke and cleared the air.

I agree that they were not technically wrong, nor do I agree that my position was wrong either, because I still feel that it's an unfair tactic.

That being said, I just want to make it clear exactly what happened. What they did was not cheating or an exploit. I knew that right from the start. I simply asked them twice to stop boosting into our spawn, as my team started complaining on voice chat, and we all got very frustrated. I was simply the one to speak up about it, beacuse I knew Pagan and DirtyBird. FMJ and myself shouldn't have swore at them after that point in time. I just wish they would have been more vocal in their response... other than just to keep doing it. Pagan was on my team the map prior, and did pretty much the same thing. As I said in my origional post, it probably ruined his team's game too... I know that when I was on his team and he was mowing down the enemy, I wasn't really having much fun either. Just seemed to me like something that should be done in scrims/matches, not in pubs when someone you know has asked you to stop.

That's the story. It's over. Things are fine.

I can see both sides of the argument here.

1) Setting up a kill zone: a strat that has been used by many armies many many times. D-day, Pearl Harbor...etc etc where there are a bunch of peeps that are easy targets. It's not a bug, or glitch that allows players to do something that should be done...therefore it is legal.

2) An unfair advantage: similar to killing the hosties in CS. Yes the terrorists can do it, no there is no penalty. What it does do is remove the possibility of the CT's completing the primary objective. In GC servers it is not allowed. Why, because it makes the game very difficult for CT's on a map that is already T biased.

This was not on GC servers tho...

Also, as for Dirty being proffesional he did not use profanity, he did not spray porn, did not use racist terms, did not discuss politics...

DID use teamwork.

And as far as my opinion on spawn killing....if it wasn't allowed to be done, or shouldn't be done, send in a note to Valve and hope they have enough similary complaints to do something about it. Hey, its worth a shot... :)

Big Bones,

It is obvious by your post that you have not the slightest clue what you're talking about. So, if you would like for me to give you some facts, which would maybe lead to a coherent response, feel free to private message me.

In the meantime, do not come into this topic and spew garbage and degrade myself and Pagan's character. You were not there, it’s obvious you’re not familiar with DOD, and it’s also obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Let me explain to you what an “e-thug is as you so eloquently put it. It’s someone who hacks, cheats, spams voice chat, swears, team kills, or does other illegal acts. Key word there is illegal; put that in your mind for a few seconds.

What Pagan and I did was boost into spawn to hold back the enemy at spawn, which is NOT illegal. Being that it’s not illegal, that totally voids the argument of us being an e-thug, right?

So before you try to add your two cents next time, make sure it’s not complete garbage that I can completely refute and make void.

rgr, burgerking. there isnt any bad blood. seein how frustrated you got... shows it probaly would have come up sooner or later. i respect you standing up for your opinion and how you felt. it was also nice of you to ask them twice. im not gonna say anything about the swearin cause we all do it and it was in another server.

no one is going to think any less of you either for stating how you felt. we would still love it if you would continue to call GC your home. we like having you here and as long as there isnt any problems in our servers, plz continue to play here all you want.

as for any other responses...... if this subject pertained to you or you were there... then ok. however, if you are just giving your two cents worth guys.... its fine. it has been resolved and these guys have talked about it. if it isnt relevent then dont post something that isnt a fact or doesnt apply to you. thx guys.

Fibbergascheinsar!! Morons!

...

thought I would spew and spout nonsensical argumentative drivel and somehow it would be humorous. But my brain is busy growing my hair or something. I think i am just too old to be funny on an internet forum. These young guys nowadays are just to creative in a humoruos way it seems. Time to pass the torch or merely to flame out.

O, and preacher, your momma wears dirty socks!!! ... ... on her HEAD!

An e-thug to me is a person who ruins other peoples game, which from the burgers first post you/pagan clearly did this not only to him, but to the rest of his team. I dont have to be familiar with DoD, to pick out a few facts that he's mentioned and take his side of the arguement. How would you like it if every time you spawned you were instantly killed?

I didn't say this was illegal at all. I just said it killed the fun, just like an e-thug kills fun.

Anyway its over. Have a nice day.

It’s rather apparent that some of us (gc) will never be on the same page regarding this topic. It has come to a point where we are better off to "agree to disagree" and move on.

No need to bump it anymore, just move on and lick your wounds.

I don't know how many times the headmaster of my old school told everyone that "if you want to cause trouble, go home and take off your school uniform.

I echo the headmaster on this one, all you kids get naked! :luxhello:

Best line of this entire thread.

-lux

So, we should all strip naked and curse?

I would continue to post, but whats the point? I'm not going to win, although my arguement is clear-

If you couldn't even spawn repetively for 30 minutes (as burger said, though I assume it was probably 5-10 minutes) the game is not fun.

And I believe that was a bad comparison m2. One person dominating the game using an awp is completely different to not being able to spawn. If someone owns with an awp, people still have a chance to fight back.

Heres a better comparison in terms of cs-

A stupid myg0t wannabe kid wasting the whole team almost instantly by the means of autoaim, autofire and a speed hack.

To be honest, I'm not bothered if every single gc member stands against me, after all, thats what a community is for right? Supporting each other and helping each other out, no matter if they are right or wrong - it happens a lot round here. But I'm standing firm on my views. The behaviour of people like dirtybird and pagan in the event above ruins gaming, and tbh I stopped playing counter-strike around 1.4 time because I kept running into immaturity like that. I dont like it. Neither do a lot of people.

Why should people have to leave servers because someone is ruining their game?

As I said before, everyone will rush to defend dirtybird and pagan, although they were clearly in the wrong.

I am with bigbone on this one. Even if they aren't wearing their tag some people obviously know them as GC. Besides this is just lame. If they really wanted to see if it could be done or not they should have gone into an empty server. And if they didn't there are plenty of place you can set up an mg and own from(like awping) without using a boost exploit(more like speed hacking). The map designers obviously put those barriers there for a reason, so boosting over them has to be consicered an exploit of the game limitations. I don't think I would boost someone over the barrier. It would be like if an admin teleported one team to the other teams spawn as they were running out and they were unexpectedly gunned down from behind. Just an opinion.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forums I got... from some of you. I also appreciate the continuing invitation to play in .GC servers.

Like I said before, I didn't mean to stir up a hornet's net here. Even I and Dirty Bird agreed to disagree here, and we were the ones with the actual issue. I hope you guys can do the same. I didn't want this to get hostile between anyone, only to talk about it like grownups. (Yes, I'm 21, not 12).
