Chief August 7, 2006 Share Chief Member August 7, 2006 I know this is almost another 200 bucks over the monitor you picked, but with the 60 rebate you are getting one of the better reviewed monitors out there as far as large LCDs go. 5ms response time is nice too....if you're card can push 1600x1200 and your wallet can afford 300 bucks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824001226
avengence August 7, 2006 Share avengence Member August 7, 2006 I would go for something with a DVI-D input. This one is pretty good I hear: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824014105
Shazz August 7, 2006 Share Shazz Member August 7, 2006 There are a few of us that use this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824179014 I like it. No problems whatsoever! I personally think you would be better off with a 19 inch or larger. Plus you want DVI input which is a much better connection. I wouldn't get one without DVI. The Asus doesn't have DVI. Plus the Hyundai has DVI and Analog.

akaM2 August 7, 2006 Share akaM2 Member August 7, 2006 This is a very good one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824116375 Also look at the Dell UltraSharps, they are very good and have many extra features. The 20" Dell ultrasharp sometimes has some very good coupons with it, also the 20" is the exact same display as the Apple Cinema Display but with a different case. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/categor...s=19&l=en&s=dhs
Primus August 7, 2006 Share Primus Member August 7, 2006 The one Preacher posted up is a good one and a good deal. Which ever one you choose, don't settle for a 17" when you can get a 19" for 20 to 30 bucks more.
J. Dunlavy August 7, 2006 Share J. Dunlavy Member August 7, 2006 I've been using my spanking new LG 1970 Flatron Slim, and it blows almost every other LCD I've seen out of the water. - Dun P.S. The monitor linked to by the topic starter is a piece of sucking crap.

Lunk August 7, 2006 Share Lunk Member August 7, 2006 This is the third post recently about monitors Here's the one I use and highly recommend. And it works great with CS:S. Max resolution is 1440x900 which is fine with me. It's also a wide screen.

Lunk August 8, 2006 Share Lunk Member August 8, 2006 If you go with the one I suggested Nut. Be sure to change your settings in CS:S to WideScreen and 16:10 aspect ratio. Things look great after that.
YoMamma August 10, 2006 Share YoMamma Member August 10, 2006 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...2317700&CatId=0 has dvi I finally bought a DVI cable for my LCD this week and I must say..... what a waste of money. I notice the difference in colors, but its so slight that the average eye woudlnt notice a difference.
Cujo August 11, 2006 Share Cujo Member August 11, 2006 maybe your monitor isn't good enough to take full advantage. given that it didn't come with a dvi cable in the first place leads me to believe that is the case.

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 930B with 8ms response time. I thought it was a pretty good monitor.

TheGeek August 13, 2006 Share TheGeek Member August 13, 2006 This is mine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824001230 I can hook up my laptop and my desktop into it and at a push of a button switch between them. It also comes with different brightness modes and a custom one that you can get. Its so bright when you get it so you will have to turn down the gamma in your video settings. I give this monitor a 10/10 I would rather have my monitor than my friends 23 inch Apple cinema monitor. I have yet to see a monitor that looks better and functions better then my monitor.
