Metallurgic December 7, 2006 Share Metallurgic Member December 7, 2006 I think for the features and games it is way too overpriced. Most people don't even have a TV that can take advantage of BluRay. Besides, buying either HD-DVD or BluRay this early in the game is foolish in my opinion. Wait until there is a clear victor and one becomes standard. appalachian_fox December 7, 2006 Share appalachian_fox Member December 7, 2006 Perhaps the better question is, does Sony/the PS3 really need BluRay? The answer to this is, of course, yes. Consumers? It's not FOR you. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/

Warpig December 25, 2006 Share Warpig Member December 25, 2006 My progressive scan looks great on my HDTV..... Bluray will be cheaper in a couple years, just like dvd players when they first came out were hundreds of dollars and now you can pick them up for under $50. I could care less about blu ray I never watch dvds, and its just something for Sony to make there PS3 more expensive....
Nick Soapdish December 25, 2006 Share Nick Soapdish Member December 25, 2006 blu-ray is a terrible company and they teamed up with sony and they are trying to push the idea of machine specific discs. not to mention that they are the ones who pushed the whold HDCP baloney. if blu-ray wins the format war im burning my draft card and going to canada, ill stay on anonymo's couch or something. Shadowman January 29, 2007 Share Shadowman Member January 29, 2007 I just want to play my dang video games on a dang video game system, I don't to have to pay an extra $300 for something that should be an option, and not a required piece of the final product. I just wanna play MGS4 and FFXIII!

YoMamma January 31, 2007 Share YoMamma Member January 31, 2007 I say yes. The blue-ray is the only thing that appeals to me about the PS3 as of now. But since Im happy with my current DVDs, Im not even going to buy that player.
tWc|WhiteyFord February 12, 2007 Share tWc|WhiteyFord Member February 12, 2007 well i watch movies on a 50 inch sony lcd tv. regulard dvds just dont look good to me anymore, i tend to buy movies now on blueray because it looks so much better. there is really no comparision between a progressive scan dvd player at 480 when you can watch a movie in 1080i or 1080p. enough said.
