TheGeek June 24, 2008 Share TheGeek Member June 24, 2008 Looks like he might have slipped. I think if he did it intentional, his arms would be straight. Not bracing. His head however looks intentional. Almost like he's aiming for it.
stutters June 24, 2008 Share stutters GC Alumni June 24, 2008 none of the above. poor guy is going to have a gnarly grass stain in his shorts, and you want to penalize him? psssh.
LoveForPriscillaChan June 24, 2008 Share LoveForPriscillaChan Member June 24, 2008 that's a red card + possible further ejection; it seems that he has malicious intent judgining from the picture, with his studs up and where the heck is the ball? all the more reason to show red
Magruter June 24, 2008 Share Magruter Member June 24, 2008 Red, give him the boot. Anything to the knee is automatic ejection.. I know from experience.

mohawk June 24, 2008 Author Share mohawk Member June 24, 2008 Yeah - so this was from our game last weekend in Richmond.. The player initially received a yellow card for the tackle.. but was then issued a red card for shoving one of their players who got in his face.. (see below) This happened in the 15th minute... so we played 10 v 11 for 75 minutes and fortunately came out with a tie on the road...
Demoner June 24, 2008 Share Demoner Member June 24, 2008 No ball in the first picture even around. Like majority of people I say red card. Sounds like a team that you do not want to play again if they go after you like that.
Playaa June 24, 2008 Share Playaa Member June 24, 2008 From that picture it actually did look like he slipped...but I have a feeling you would not have posted this thread if that's what happened. No doubt at all that's a red card...your ref was horrible (or didn't actually see what happened) to just give a yellow for that. In the 2nd picture she definitely doesn't look like someone you'd want to mess with though. Demon eyes.
Playaa June 24, 2008 Share Playaa Member June 24, 2008 Sounds like a team that you do not want to play again if they go after you like that. The awkward part you're all missing is that the player in question doing the foul was mohawk's teammate.

Demoner June 24, 2008 Share Demoner Member June 24, 2008 Oh dang, your captain! I hope he normally doesn't play that way! If he does, it sounds like it could make for a rough season.

No further penalty other than to have to look at that chick's face screaming. srysly...there's a lot of acting that goes into most soccer fouls. Drama queens are aplenty in that sport...not really Mexico and central/south America, but mainly Europe.

anonymo June 25, 2008 Share anonymo Member June 25, 2008 Can't tell from picture. No ball around? His cleat fully in contact with the other players knee? Aggravated retaliation to opposing team's reaction? Should never be allowed to play professional football again. But really I would need to see the actual play, not a completely out of context picture with no explanation of events whatsoever. So are you going to remove your dress and tell us your thoughts? mohawk June 25, 2008 Author Share mohawk Member June 25, 2008 should have been a straight red w/ 3 game suspension and +$500 fine when it was all said and done it ended up being a soft red w/ 1 game suspension
