not recently, I'll have to check teh version. But there was nothing changed from before Sunday to after sunday. no driver installs, no bios flash, no software install.

just a screen corruption in game, then corruption in the bios screen and windows boot screen. VGA mode seems to work in safe mode and normal mode, but the full nVidia drivers blanks my screen.

now that i think of it. We had a similar issue with our work comps. We have Dell desktops at work and we constantly had motherboards failing....sometimes they'd fail while we were running critical tests.....it's funny trying to justify a messup to a customer by blaming it on dell

And seriously though... after 4 hours of their resources, don't you think it would have been better to ship me the replacement in the first place? dunno what their script monkeys make, but even at 10 ruples an hour, plus online resources, to then end up shipping me a card anyway and you've got to wonder.

 

 

My guess is this log comes up at staff meeting on Friday.

I never have to deal with this. I am certified in most Dell systems and I tell the "tech rep" that I know that the issue is this or that and that I need a replacement this or that and that is it. Sometimes I have to be a little tough and tell them that I do not have the time to repeat all of their steps so please get the parts on order and a ticket generated so I can move on. I am usually done in 20 minutes or so. I refuse to try and talk to them on the phone. I worked for them as a contractor and talking to them in nearly impossible, even for those of us who worked for them.
