MrDuke May 31, 2006 Share MrDuke Member May 31, 2006 I don't know about sushi bars but I know there's a mongolian buffet close by. That and the usual Bob Evan's type of places.

Red Meat and Beer (any good bars with great cheeseburgers nearby)? Mexican. Mongolian is good too... NO WHITE CASTLES! Forget the fish (Sorry Ebil). Sounds good and I'd normally do it, but - dunno about this weekend. Have to keep the Saki though. Bottom line - we just need good food!

wayfarer May 31, 2006 Share wayfarer Member May 31, 2006 Yes, sorry Ebil I completely forgot about this! I would LOVE to do sushi! If we can find a place not too far away it would be a good outing IMO. Also good for those who have never tried it before and would like to. Keep in mind also that at a typical Japanese restaurant there are other dishes that do not include raw fish, or indeed any fish, that are just as tasty for those unwilling to try sushi. I'm a go! I can drive as well.

I can drive as well. Sushi is not raw fish nor contains raw fish explicitly...sushi is the art of rolling <insert ingredient here> with sticky rice in seaweed wrap...too many people are so anti-sushi because of this simple misconception...poor sushi! it's ok sushi, not everyone dislikes you... Oh yeah...I guess I'm down...I don't know about my ability to drive tho ...when would we do this?

MrDuke May 31, 2006 Share MrDuke Member May 31, 2006 Leave it to detective Duke to pick up on the subtle fact that the trailer might need loading. Too bad I gotta work. I betcha Bub would help load it... if he sees yer ugly mug on the 24th.
wayfarer May 31, 2006 Share wayfarer Member May 31, 2006 Enough hijacking, this thread is about the quest for sushi & those willing to embark on that quest. From what I can tell; 1. Ebil 2. Anonymo 3. Wayfarer Anyone else care to expand their sense of taste? *warning* Sushi is not a food, it's an addiction!
EbilDustBunny May 31, 2006 Author Share EbilDustBunny GC Alumni May 31, 2006 (edited) I'm sure if we talk to a couple of the restraunts one of them would give us a discount for our eventful night. and if they are good i'm sure we'd visit them next year or something I'm sure the price can be talked down. MrDuke June 1, 2006 Share MrDuke Member June 1, 2006 I was referring to restaurants within stumbing distance. If we're road tripping we could go get the best crab legs EVER. They're soaked in sweet water and then steamed, not boiled. All you can eat for $35. I guarantee you'll be hooked for life. www.picklebills.com
