I don't fault the clan for this if they said upfront "Sure you can pay to join but you don't get to play in the matches unless you show you have the skill to compete". Otherwise, the clan is just as pathetic, even worse because they are taking a giant risk at ruining their rep by letting some scrub pay his way into their clan.
