Preacher April 4, 2007 Share Preacher Member April 4, 2007 (edited) Well I just ran 3dmark06 for the first time and am pleased after reading the posts here. My score was 6676 3D Marks SM2.0 Score: 2659 HDR score: 3245 CPU Score: 1733 System: AMD 939 Asus A8R32-MVP w/ X2 4400+ Saphire X1900XTX 512mb vid Maxtor sata 3.0 250gb HDD 2 GB Gskill DDR 400 2.5-3-3-6 XP Pro 64bit Ed running on last Dec ATI drivers still no OCing I think my main boost is that I cool my system so well (a cool PC is a happy PC). Preacher April 4, 2007 Share Preacher Member April 4, 2007 (edited) I'm wondering if Vista slows it all down I think I'll try again tonight with all my stupid stuff like temp monitors and printer stuff turned off to see if my score goes up any. Preacher April 5, 2007 Share Preacher Member April 5, 2007 With all processes off that could be turned off my results are a bit higher: 7063 3D Marks sm = 2818 hdr = 3446 cpu = 1849 maybe tomorrow I might try a 5% OC and see what happens lol (like this crap matters to anyone
Preacher April 6, 2007 Share Preacher Member April 6, 2007 same as above except I did a 5% OC. I'm actually a little confused as my score overall is higher but my CPU score went down: 7210 sm = 2826 hdr = 3711 cpu = 1730 seems that my CPU score should have gone up at least 5% as that's how much faster it should be. What's up with that?
Cujo April 6, 2007 Share Cujo Member April 6, 2007 you're getting some weird results. they also seem pretty high for that card as i haven't hit 7000 and i have 1950xtx and a much faster processor... with my x1900xtx i was barely cracking 6000 and my dual core amd was getting a higher cpu score than yours at ~2000. your hdr test is WAY higher than i would think it should be for that card. what resolution are you running? it should be default which is 1280x1024... my hdr score with x1900xtx in win xp was ~2700. now i know you're running 64 bit but that shouldn't make any difference... Preacher April 7, 2007 Share Preacher Member April 7, 2007 I do have ATI overdrive enabled but haven't adjusted anything over the defaults for the OD. I did run it at native 1280x1024 but have no other answers for you lol. I was looking for answers and you just give me more questions lol
Cujo April 7, 2007 Share Cujo Member April 7, 2007 overdrive wouldn't account for that kind of difference. every review i'm checking is coming back with numbers below 7000 with better cpus than you have and using x1950xtx's. no idea how you're getting that kind of score but awesome. Preacher April 7, 2007 Share Preacher Member April 7, 2007 Well great for the score, but why is my CPU not scoring so high? I have every process shut down that isn't needed (including all the bells and whistles of windows XP) Should I disable my LAN port to avoid any net feedback? I don't guess it really matters too much lol, it's not like I'll get this thing to drive me around town if I get it to a higher score, but I guess it's curiousity more than anything.
