My name is Ross.. and i go under the handle: ShadowDog. I have been in many clans including MmmM, DOH, SAB, CsLs, and many other clans in this community. i believe it has totaled up to 6-7 years now that i have been with this community. Back when SAB even played on the Mmmm servers and then got their own server. I was in Smoke A Bowl at that time. Mr. Neko and my brother (Bigcatz) made me join. Then we moved to DOH under YerMother and i left because of complications of being with my brother and DarkAngel. moved to CsLs and such and floated around between many clans... i started playing when i was about ... 10.. 11... i am now 17, turning 18 on May 1st. I have been in conflicts with Fatty, been banned a few times, but nothing ever too serious. I was around when Tristen and Mooney were caught hacking, when Gamers Coalition didnt exist. I REMEMBER WHEN THE ONLY PEOPLE ON THE SERVERS WERE REGULARS... before GamersCoalition, before all these fund raisers and before Frag Fest... anyone else remember such times? or.. am i the only one left? -Ross AKA ShadowDog AKA Shermano EDIT: anyone remember when Fatty tried to make this huge chat thing called My Palace or something.. and then it back fired =[ it was funny.. i think me and The Bugs were the only people to really hang around it. OH! anyone remember when SAB, DOH, Mmmm, and CsLs would regularly scrim every other week or so? pretty fun times.. I've been part of many "gaming groups" online in my years and this is the only one to remain successful and well run for such a long time. remember cs 1.3 on Mmmm's servers? Those were some times. Fragfest has been around before GC but has grown along with GC's development. The only fund raiser i can think of is Fat's group camp, that is an awesome cause. As for the regulars, you once were new to the servers. That's how regulars are created. What are you looking for? As duke says please define a regular. Are you a regular? ConGregation November 28, 2006 Share ConGregation Member November 28, 2006 hey shadowdog. Times change. This is NOT the same place it used to be and sometimes I long for it to be. While GC is a small group, it will never be as small or as 'tight knit' as it use to be. Guys that use to play a lot are hardly on. Or they are on 'another' server. But be that as it may, although this is a different place, it's better in some respects. It is never hard to get some gaming action and the community is so large now that we have guys that can do really cool stuff. YoMamma November 29, 2006 Share YoMamma Member November 29, 2006 Yes, I miss the old days of CS 1.3 (or even Beta CS) with the smaller group of guys before GC, but what this community has grown into today is anything short of amazing. Its always sad to see a good friend leave the community, but times change, people change, and this community as a whole must evolve with these changes. Maybe he meant things like RFKC when he said "fundraisers." btw, you might have caught people with the i'm appauled in your first line because this carries a somewhat negative connotation. Perhaps "amazed" by all the change, or bewildered. I read through your post looking for what appauled you, only to note that you missed the old days, which is ok. But i was just remembering them and Mag, the fund raisers i meant were like when there were buying hats for that kid with cancer i believe.. just an example.. and im not saying Fund raisers are bad, because i'd gladly give a few bucks or so to them. to Fatty and the rest, the servers and community are nice.. but just like YoMomma said, playing with "the regs" and the server being 20/24 all Regs was a good time. Playaa November 30, 2006 Share Playaa Member November 30, 2006 Duke, I think he just meant that having fund raisers for your daughter organized by members of this community wasn't something he ever expected to see. I don't think there was any negatives to that statement at all. I will go out on a limb and say that I wish GC still had at least one 1.6 server...or maybe just a CS:CZ server. I play both of those games on Sundays at my friends house and each time we're scrounging around for a good server with good players and no porn or cursing I wish that GC still had one of them. I was just Maverick way back then....then Envy|Maverick...then [LaW]...then [MwR]....then CsLs....yup, now I'm LaW again. Anyway, those were great times! Especially since the SAB server was 'bout 15 minutes away from my house and I got 'bout a 14 ping! I loved that. Naw, I loved the old days, and I love the...today days? as well....so come back, join the insanity, and I need to start playing more often How's that for a nonsensical post? I still dont get your comment here, sorry to sound harsh but if anything raising hats for Danielle showed me how good of a community GC is. I dont think I would want to forget about that. Maybe im taking this all the wrong way, maybe you should of just put remember the 1.6 days or something. As of right now if I go in a server after 5pm im gonna see 10-12 people I know. Yes it was better when you couldnt get in the server because it was filled with regs but GC is trying to expand so that one day that will happen with all of our servers.
