I myself didn't buy Vista. I'm fine with my little old LCD. I sit pretty close to it anyway. Also in the process of fixing up a case and getting a new cooling system. stutters September 19, 2007 Share stutters GC Alumni September 19, 2007 You could build a really nice PC if you would stop spending your money on mac stuff but why does my powerbook g4 run faster than my 3.0ghz pc? my powerbook is second hand, but didn't those things first come out in like '01? i finished my pc with top o the line stuff in '06. mookie September 19, 2007 Share mookie GC Alumni September 19, 2007 (edited) uhm, and mega LOL @ playaa. what's that finder-dock-like-plugin you've got running on windows? I've seen that dealie for XP before. Pretty useless IMO. but why does my powerbook g4 run faster than my 3.0ghz pc? my powerbook is second hand, but didn't those things first come out in like '01? i finished my pc with top o the line stuff in '06. <3 pc's I think new CPUs are overrated. I can't tell the difference in speed between my four year old Northwood and the last few brand-new Dells I've seen. That could just be the Vista bloat though. Powerbook is a PowerPC chip though right? Might just be inherently faster than an x86 CISC for some most stuff such as booting, productivity apps, and design apps. Overall Mac OS X is far superior to NT-based desktops. I'm amazed more of the modern world isn't running them. Edited September 19, 2007 by sj edited for clarity of intent.
